A Belgian-style White made with dried organic orange slices, fresh cut lemongrass and a bit of coriander. This beer is a great summer quencher. Namaste was originally brewed at our brewpub in with our friend Leo from Birra del Borgo in Italy as a tribute to our friends at 3 Fonteinen brewery in Belgium, who had devastating production loss (1/3 of their annual production!) at their brewery in 2009. You can read more about the original brewing of this beer here on Sam's blog.

This is a very citrus forward witbier, something I notice with a lot of American witbiers. The color is a mildly hazed medium gold color topped by a weak foamy white head that splits into little islands quickly. The aroma is light orange, mild wheat malt, coriander, cloves, yeast, and some bready malts. Mouthfeel is average. Flavor is wheat and orange with a spicy hop finish. A very refreshing beer that hits the spot on a summer’s day.

Picked up a bottle at the Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury, VT. Pours a big foamy white head, good retention, has a hazy golden orangey appearance. Lively carbonation. Dirty lacing. Aromas of floral and citrus hops, some oranges and hints of grapefruit. Flavours of orange peel, grapefruit, coriander and subtle peppery hints. A little bit of lemongrass an some yeasty notes in the finish. Pretty good.

Pours a semi-cloudy light yellow with a one finger off white head that takes its time. Sediment is present in the glass floating around. Nicely carbonated. Aroma is not typical and has strong hints of pepper and other spices. A hint of VICS vapor rub as well. Taste is fairly typical for the style but has a acidic fruit backing to it, almost like a concentrate. I can taste a little fresh cut grass and flower peddles as well. Interesting brew.

Sampled from bottle. Pours pale yellow with a thin, creamy white head. Pleasant herbal aroma with citrus and spice notes too. Balanced. Herbal flavor grows and lingers. Light-bodied.

Beer pours cloudy gold, with a nice sized white head. Fair bit of lacing, moderate retention. Nose contains coriander, lemon and other citrus (orange), lemongrass, a bit of a soapy scent and characteristic wheat scents. The lemongrass is a nice touch to what is otherwise a typical wit smell.Taste has orange, lemon, coriander, white pepper, lemongrass, and the taste of wheat malt. High carbonation level, very crisp, medium bodied, and creamy.Overall its an enjoyable witbier, the lemongrass adds but does not overshadow the standard wit flavours, a nice beer.

Yeasty aroma has fruity, spicy and malty hints. It pours a slightly hazy solar yellow with a minimal white head that still leaves some good lacing. Malty and wheaty flavor has a firm yeasty undertone and floral and fruity hints, and is very refreshing. Smooth texture has fairly firm body and a rather strong fizz, leaving behind a persistent tingle.

brewed in honour of Drie F's bottle loss with an italian brewer? thats funny because i drank this in honor of my dogs bone loss with a poodle .. . Pours a hazy tan, good lacing .. . good fruit, berry, orange and coriander .. . refreshing mouthfeel, a whole might be a bit much with this beers sweetness, but i did enjoy my sample .. . Aaaoooo, botched toe! I botched that one, ooh that's a botch job. It's bleedin. I need some trash to plug up the cut.

A hazy lemon colored beer. Loads of bubbles in the body, on pour. A big frothy textured white head rises above. Good hang time. Settles eventually into a thick ringlet atop the body and light dusting of film aside the glass. The nose and tasting are of refreshing lemon fruit and coriander. A gentle wheat presence. A light-medium bright body. Nicely carbonated.

Pale orange color, smallish head. Funky wheaty aroma, not really pleasant, like sour smelling. Flavor was super coriandery with a lot of orange sweetness. Heavy wheat yeasty flavor as well. Not really light and refreshing...and don’t really buy the "thirst quencher" label from the description. Good for a one time try, but a witbier is not really what I think of when I crave something rich and strong flavored.

had this summer beer before a couple impy stouts and i still remember it - so that is saying something. not super true to style, but smelled and tasted great. aroma of citrus, yeasty tang, and fresh cut (lemon)grass, which adds a very nice dimension to the flavor as well. the body is pretty thin, which is the only thing that prevents this from being my favorite in a style i don't always care for. also, the price tag and availability will prevent too many revisits, but this is a superb summer quencher. still tasted and smelled super fresh months after bottling.
