you are full of newtons! .. . Pours a deep burgundy brown .. medium soapy head .. sticky crazy lacing .. . smell is plums, prunes, dark fruits, cellar and reduced brandy .. . aged amazingly well, and still has a touch of heat in the throat- a winter sipper for sure .. . . Stomp that pickle revert!

The beer pours out a dark woody brown color (reminded me of a rich cherrywood) with a small 1" light brown head. Aroma is brown sugar, pitted fruits, vanilla, candi sugar with a touch of wet dirt. Sweet and boozy on the palate, the vinous notes really are easy to pick-out. Dark fruits, sweet malts (toffeeish), a bit of dust and alcohol really round it all out. Ages really well.

I really enjoyed this beer, it has aged quite well. A dark brown beer with an aroma to match. Unibroue yeast, dark fruits and an ample amount of spice. This is what you call a great beer. The flavour has sweet malty tones to go along with the yeast.

Thank you beercronic (aka the human meat wallet) for cellaring this in your beerium for 3 long years, we’ll be sure to drink mine in a few more years that is if your feet don’t explode on the NBT next month. Beer appears to be the color of coke minus the t reddish hue, a thin short lived film floated briefly on top but could be replace with a few gentle swirls producing a spiral graph of bubbles. My first initial sniffs I was picking up an high quantity of “candied cinnamon” but this seems to trail of into a grape candy aroma. Wood was appearing along with mild alcohol the warmer the brew got. On my very first sip I swore this was apple juice. Brew is almost to sweet, cherries and liquorish are noticeable along with mild wood and alcohol. Getting a very mild skunkiness in the after taste but its barely noticeable. This is very tasty but not as good as remember it being when it was fresh its seems to have gotten sweeter and thinner.

Cellared from whenever this first came on sale.
Poured a dark brown wit a small light brown head and, surprisingly, keeps a ring and gives out slippery lacing. Aroma early on is odd as it is not well defined: slight toast, weird swedish berries / fake grape, some spice, very sweet, er...i guess that's it. Taste: very drinkable, slight taste malt is actually bigger than it appears soft yeast, a touch apple, a bit of nut... I like nuts... toasted malts, yea....this review has taken almost 2 hours. Pretty smooth, very drinkable, I've just noticed alcohol upfront but that dies and replaced by some slight spice. Pretty tasty and I guess that gives this some decent marks but overall I was bored. I guess it should get better than 3.3.... Pretty smooth. yaya....can't stop typing.....PARADOX ISLAY BATCH 008 NEXT.... -

Surprising find at the local shop, no hesitation on my part to uncork this fine treat. Pours a mottled, ruby-brown color. A thin tan head sits on top of the opaque body and produces small spots of lacing. Mellow aroma of port wine filled with lots of dark fruity scents and a lightly interwoven mustiness. Exceptionally smooth mouth feel, I'm sure the few years spent conditioning in the bottle have helped. Slightly sweet and dry, nice and yeasty. Wonderful rich fruity flavors. Thick red wine, plums, and raisins. A complimenting thin mulch-like earthiness adds depth. Well blended flavor, subtle and potent. Nicely aged and very enjoyable.

Dark amber colour, not much head. Plum, glue and alcohol in nose. Flavour is semiroasted, strongly caramellish and syrupy. Dark fruits and sugar also noteable. Wellbalanced and pleasant to drink.

RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. 750 ml bottle. Fruity and vinous aroma, hints of oak. Flavour is fruity with notes of cherries, redcurrants and raspberries, hints of blackcurrants.

Dark color and a vigorous pour yields next to no head at all. Fresh from the fridge, this beer was almost sickly sweet. Dark fruit dominates with a weird taste in the aftertaste that reminded me of Worcestshire sauce, but my dad said it tasted like black currants (I'll take his word for it). Got IMMENSELY better as it warmed as the spices came out and mellowed the sweetness. Also, a sour flavor emerged as it warmed that I found downright awesome. One of my more enjoyable Unibroue experiences, and that says a lot.

had this bottle sitting in the celler for a while... planned on keeping it there for longer... but when you crave something you gotta have it! pours a burgandy/brownish color with a nice 2 finger tanned head. had ok lacing, nothing that great. the first smell of the bottle i thought Red Wine from western australia... but has i poured, those wonderful smells of dark fruits (raisins/prunes/figs), with some black cherries, typical unibroue yeast and slight smell of alcohol. (even picking up some smokie smells). the taste is great, malty, yeasty, fruity, has the beer warms it makes you think... alot of different flavours going on here. mouthfeel is pretty smooth, dances a little on the tongue before softly slowing down do a stop, leaves the mouth a bit dry... but oh can you taste cherries and raisins in the after taste.. SIMPLY AMAZING!! i love this beer and i love unibroue, yet another triumph for the quebec gods!!
