Topped with a tan creamy head, this beer has a definite hop character that nicely balances its mild bitterness. King's Peak is the highest point in the state of Utah at 13,528 feet, located in northeastern Utah in the Uinta Mountains. * Available on draught and six pack bottles.

A beer of the month club entry for July/August 2010. A pleasant surprise pours nicely dark, good toasty biscuit flavor that not too dense so it is rather more refreshing than a typical porter style beverage. Moderately complex flavor balance of bitter and toast. If it were a available locally brew it would be a repeat purchase for me.

Poured from a botttle that I've probably had for a while. It poured to a very deep black color with a thin almond head. The aroma was a bit weak with malts and a hint of chocolate. The taste left me looking for well the taste. It was a roasted malty sweetness with a watery finish which kind of bummed me out. It's ok...just not something that is going to knock your socks off.

This porter starts off great but struggles as it goes. A great pour providing a black color and billowing brown head followed by a coating of thick lacing around the glass. Abundant aroma of roasted goodness, milk chocolate and coffee with a nice tobacco scent. Feeling great about the beer at this point and then the actual drinking brings me back down. Mild bodied with a thin finish and an awkward aftertaste of ashes. Flavor is a touch odd with notes of toasted bread, stale malt, cold coffee, and mild chocolate. A sprinkling of floral hops adds a bitter aspect. All in all the taste seems under developed. I expected more robustness due to the great aroma. Thanks Chef Chad for hooking me up.

The aroma of this beer is the high point, if only it could taste as good as it smelled. Not a bad porter just not a good one. Could stand to have more body to it and more of a roasty flavor with less carbonation.

From a bottle. Pours a clear dark brown/black with a thin white head. Aroma is malty with some caramel undertone. Thin thin thin mouthfeel. Flavor is next to non-existent. Somewhat sweet, with a very light bitter aftertaste. Not too impressive of a beer.

this is almost black with a diminishing head. Aroma of malt and fresh coffee and also bread like pumpernickel. Flavor has light roasted chocolate notes and black coffee. Sweet in the finish of molasses and a bit watery. Light to med. bodied porter. Overall, a pretty basic example and drinkable for the style. Robust on the nose but mellow flavors and a clean, crisp finish

Eclipse black color. Small mostly non-existent head. Aroma is malty with a definite coffee ground nose. A lighter to medium bodied porter. Malts are chocolate and coffee. Kind of metallic tasting. Hops are slightly bitter. Kind of thin tasting. Mouthfeel is a little thin. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is bitter coffee and a hint metallic.

Wannabe dark, bland waxy chocolate aroma, kinda lite, kinda week, actually it kinda looks like oil that is only partially tarnished.

Pours adrkish brown with twinges of red and a small head. Aroma is nicely roasted. Taste is slightly bittersweet with cocoa and hops. Very drinkable but a bit light.

dark but showing red in the light..thin head..chocolate aroma but very subtle...watery palate under subtle malty chocolate flavors and maybe some choc-covered banana...thin though and not too pronounced in the flavor department.
