Down the line I thought this was very average for a pale ale. The appearance was a nice copper color with a thin head and lacing. There wasn't much to the aroma, just a slight sweet hint. The taste was fair enough but nothing new or different. It was enjoyable.

Off the tap at Troegs; clear copper color with a thin head; floral aroma with a well-balanced hoppiness. Sweet to the pallette, finishing slightly on the bitter side. Tangerine, orange and grapefruit in the flavor with a hint of the malt.

This was a really good offering from Troegs. I had this beer as part of a larger mixed case. The beer was citrusy and well balanced. A prime example of what an American IPA should be.

Pours out tan, nice lacing .. . aroma of fresh tree, tea, and resin .. . very much a session beer, but contains a back sweetness that i didn't completely care for .. . still a solid offering .. . my spidey sense is tingling- anyone call for a webslinger!

I got this one as part of a sample 12 pack...absolutely loved it. Poured a clear golden color with a white head and delicate lacing. The hops aroma and flavor were outstanding. I tought this brew had more hops flavor than your typical Pale Ale. Will definitely have this one again and again.

Light copper/dark gold color sporting a 1/2" bright, white head and crazy thick lacing. Fruity hop aroma with a splash of pine. The aroma is calm and faint, you have to go diving to pick up the scent. Mildly bitter, on the lighter side for the style with an empty finish. Nutty and fruity with orange and grapefruit flavors coupled by some pine. The taste is there, but again it's too faint. Not impressed, give me the Hop Back Amber please.

This is a wonderful drinking american pale ale. Borders almost as an IPA in my pallet. Crisp light tan head, citrus hoppy aroma, nice initial bitterness with a clean mouth feel and finish. One of my favorite local brewers. Their Hop Back is another fine example of their brewing skill.

Troegs is a fine PA brewery, and this is a fine pale ale. Looks very nice in the glass, a dark golden color with a generous and lasting head that leaves trails of lacing. Aroma is maltier rather than hoppier, but the two fragrances meld well. Crisp mouthfeel, and a good balance on the palate. I regret that Troegs' brews are unavailable here in the midwest, but I always grab some on my trips back east, and I'd recommend other beerpals give this brewer a try.

Pours aclear amber with a moderate and short lived head. Floral hops float over sweet malt. The flavor might be a little sweet for a long session, but this is a very likable beer.

This pours a light brown colour with a small head. Has a very silky mouthfeel and tastes of soft wood and caramel. Aromas are a little floral as well. A nice pale ale overall.
