A nice new bomber at the LCBO which caught my eye (and interest - funny coming from Trafalgar). Pours a real dark brown (a tad darker than cola) with a big frothy beige head that stays up well and created beautiful dirty lacing. Fresh hop nose with the roasted malt well-balanced in back. Medium-thin bodied. Again, the hop seems a bit dominant in the taste with the dark malt underneath. Nice grapefruit bitterness lingers in the aftertaste. Seems like after a while, coffee is at the tip of my tongue and butterscotch could be smelt. Quite a nice, easy-drinking, black IPA and very interesting coming from this brewery. One of their best so far.

650ml bottle

I tried this beer on November 18, 2011 after purchasing from the Queen's Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a solid coca-cola colour with brown hues and a thin tan head. The aroma was citrusy hops, roasted malt, and some metallic notes. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation (considering that many people claim to have flat bottles - mine was pretty good for carbonation). The flavour is citrusy hops, grapefruit, and roasted malt character and nuts. -

650 ml bottle pours dark brown ale in the glass – small cap reduces quickly to a ring. Moderately carbonated. Aroma has some nice Citra hopping over roasty malt tones. Light body, thin mouth feel, hoppy-roasty character. Flavor profile is uncomplicated, nice roasty malty front side well balanced with citra and piney hops, long clean lightly bitter finish. Very good for this brewer. This represents a step forward, unfortunately we have a good Cascadian dark in this market and it comes at a poor time to rip off Netherworld sales.
