They are putting this in cans now, so wanted to have my first sample in a bottle since they may be gone soon. I actually tried this a couple months ago at a beer festival, but wanted a full 12 oz. About the same as remembered. Represents more of an amber vs. "red ale" as on the label. Not hoppy at all, which kind of ruins the balance IMO. Leans towards the sweet side, but not really that malty for a "red". Seems a bit like macro beer, although the quality is half way decent....I mean, Cigar City is brewing it, right? That's another thing that's confusing is that it's a Tampa Bay Brew Bus, or Brew Bus Brewing beer, but "brewed and bottled BY Cigar City Brewing". I much prefer their Tocobaga Red over this.

Dark red gold colored beer that's doesn't pour a head. Aroma is very mild malt and clean. The mouthfeel is thin but not watery. The taste is smooth and not very special. I would drink this over a Budweiser or Coors but not a Shocktop.

A deep brownish amber colored amber colored beer starts a profile that presents an oddball for the amber style. A one finger frothy textured light brown head rises briefly above. Heavy on the malt in the nose. Bready. Dark fruit, caramel dominate in the taste. Full bodied and creamy.

Pours a dark bronze color. smell is of caramel malts. Taste is well balanced malts and hops, easy drinking. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall is a quality beer.
