Nose off tennis balls (usually a baed sign) with some flowery notes. Pours a hazy golden body with a good white head with good retention and minimal lace. Nice mouth, medium body, slightly creamy, good carbonation. Flavor is fairly neutral, well balanced, nothing jumping out. It is bitter, the grains are a bit raw, there is some fruit (apricot), the finish is REALLY clean, its very drinkable. RERATE: 12/12/2016 Nose is fine, lemon and pine.

12 oz bottle, bottled on 8/14/13. Pours clear golden orange with a big rocky off white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet biscuity crystal malt with some grassy hops.
The flavor is sweet biscuity caramel malts with a good amount of grassy bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, an OK IPA - too much sweet biscuit malt and grassy hops. -

Enjoyed with a pre-flight lunch at SFO airport. Arrived with a smallish head over a nice orange body. Aroma was hopped and with a hint of citrus and maybe pine needles as well. Above average mouthfeel and flavour. Should've been served not as cold as it was but the keg was probably stored beside the one for Bud LIte. Not a bad airport beer.

I know I've had this beer before, but for some reason I've never reviewed. Well, if I'm going to be more vigilant about my records, then I've got to start double-checking any repeat beers. Surprised the cap of foam lasts as long as it does on this beer...haven't seen performance like that in a while. Even leaves some smears of suds on the glass. coloration is a little too yellow. A rather bland, watery IPA. Grapefruit aftertaste. Thin body. The name is much more enjoyable than the beer. Meh.

I think I’ve found one of my repeat spring/summer IPA’s for 2010. Speakeasy’s beers can be hit or miss, but this one hit’s near the center of my tastebuds target and that’s a good thing. Aroma is juicy hops, full of grapefruity goodness with just a pinch of alcohol. Flavor is just an awesome balance of clean grapefruit hops, a lean caramel malt foundation with bit of a spicy/earthy finish. Mouthfeel is velvety smooth and the body/head is spot on for an IPA. And I’m giving it an extra point based on the price $7.99 a sixer!! Thank you Speakeasy!

solid effort all around. an enjoyable, highly drinkable ipa. didn't do anything that stood out to rank it with the best, but it was good...i'd get it again.

This was a nice IPA, had a good color too and a nice beer head retention. Not overpowering, or the best IPA i have had . But all around i would recommend this one.

Poured out a crazy ammount of off-white not-quite smooth head that has faded but is retained well. Some sticky, messy lacing. Nice orange colour with lots (too much) of fine sediment. The aroma is quite nice and refreshing but not unlike other IPA of this ilk. Lots of citrus (mainly grapefruit and lemon), pine (not sharp), caramel malts...well rounded indeed. Taste is pretty good but a touch weak as I was looking for something a bit more stiff. Still, there is no lack of citrus but the malts are too muted. Candylike qualities are ok and maybe to obvious. Nears medium bodied. Nice carbonation but not ultra smooth like its peers. Soft mouthfeel. Finishes nicely with some piney bitterness. A good drinking beer indeed.

Yellowy to light brown body two inch fluffy cap with tons of carbonation, lots of roapy lacing is left behind with every sip. Beer would have done better except the color seems wonky. Brew has the normal in your face grape fruit hops but the malts seem different they seem wheaty and lighter than normal. Aroma is different so I like that but it’s not all that great. Taste has a very nice hop presence without being overly bitter. Sweet grape fruit hops are well balanced with richly flavored malts. The malts is slightly earthy and don’t have the same wheat quality they had in the aroma. After taste mildly bitter and had a smoke like quality. Diffently not the best IPA I’ve ever had but it will do, it’s not over top hoped making it very easy to drink and sometimes that’s what I want.

Bottle courtesy of Piscator34: Poured a dirty hazy yellow color ale with a large foamy head with some good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of medium citrus hops with some bitter notes is average for the style. Taste is also dominated by some weak note of citrus hops with a dry bitter finish. Body is quite full with limited malt presence and some good carbonation.
