07.02.04 12oz bottle. Fairly dark, I thought, for a wit. Then I realized that it’s supposed to be a hefe? Wheaty, like white bread. Very light, and quite carbonated. Only a glimpse of citrus/lemon in the flavor. This beer is not as exciting as I’ve become used to with Smuttynose. Drinkable and crisp, non-offensive, but it’s almost hard to believe this is from the same brewery as the other Smuttynose beers I love.

There were alot of things going on with this beer. The color was pale yellow with noticable carbonation. The aroma was of spice and malt. I found corandier to be the most notable spice. There was also some citrus about. The mouth feel was smooth and refreshing. I found many characteristics of a witte. All in all an enjoyable summer brew.

This one seemed like a misfit beer from the beginning. Labelled a hefeweizen. Sure, it had a light citrus and banana aroma (the only part that "fit"). However, upon pouring it appeared at least partially filtered with only a murky appearance. It tasted pretty darned hoppy for a wheat beer, more along the lines of a pale ale. In fact, the other anticipated flavors were smothered in the hops. A disappointing beer for one who enjoys even American wheats, especially in the summer. Pass on this one.

Now this is what I call a session beer. Light bready aroma and smooth, floffy head. Smooth, light, tasty with flavors of wheat, hay, yeast, malt and an oh so mellow bitterness. Light lemon adds just a bit of zing to it to make it really refreshing.

Cloudy, peach colored with a thick off-white head which produced some nice lacing. Just not much here in terms of flavor. Somewhat weak with citrus and lemon that seemed a little watered down. Very easy to drink though, refreshing and still not a bad choice for a hot day. Always looking for a solid summer beer and sure, I'd get it again.

A nice, sweet aroma. The beer pours a darkish golden color with a good head on it. The flavor is good, nothing really special, but not too bad. It went well with the items I had tossed on the grill. I liked this better than their IPA.

Interesting hazy appearance with a thick head that seemed to keep renewing itself. Decent taste with some bitter aftertaste, but I would drink again.

This beer was a bomb from beginning to end. Poured very little head on a hazy, pale peach body. Just about no lacing. Aroma is buggle gum, fruity, yeasty. Flavor was just off. Light body, watery, odd citrus flavors unlike most other wheat beers, a little oily and sour. A little spicy too.

Pours with a pale golden body topped by little head or lace. Sweet and fruity (banana?) aroma with a slightly yeasty background. Slightly sweet and bitter flavor with a touch of yeast and a slight fruitiness. The finish is slightly bitter. Light bodied, smooth and refreshing. Slightly watery.
