Bigger...Richer...Smoother, are all ways to describe how a Marzenbier compares to its, a Vienna or Amber Lager, look for a toasted malt character balanced with slight hop bitterness. Marzenbiers are traditionally aged for months and unveiled to great celebration. We hope you'll celebrate with ours. Cheers!

Light orange colored body with traces of a head on top. The aroma is rich caramel with a hint of Golden Delicious apples. The taste is caramel and apples along with rich bread and some wood. A little too sweet for me. Also, a thin body, even for the style.

The aroma is sweet and malty with faint hoppy bitter with possibly some dry-fruit characteristics. The appearance is a light golden brown with overtones of rusty bronze with a slight, off-white head that remains on top throughout consumption. The mouthfeel is light and malty with some hops and pretty well-balanced but a bit thin. The flavor is bready-like and of malt with some slight hoppy bitter with a finish that is good but a little thin and maybe a bit watery. Overall, a good beer and very drinkable like most of the other Saranac products. This one is refreshing and smooth and goes down nicely.

Pours a dark amber with a finger of head that disappears rather quickly. Aroma is sweet caramel, grain, and some light spicy hops. Flavor starts with caramel and some grainy flavors, then finishes with some grassy hops.

Pours with a nice amber color and an ample white head. Not too impressive of a nose as I recall. Flavor is pleasantly sweet in the foretaste and a bit of a hop bite in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy. Overall effect is a nice balanced marzenbier. Good Stuff.

Poured a cider colored amber. medium head malty flavor that was OK but nothing special. I didn't dislike it but Saranac has much better offerings

Pours a light/medium golden brown color, with small head and low carbonation. Aroma is of hearty malts, balanced with a good piney hop aroma. Aroma is a little metallic in my opinion, but not bad. Mouthfeel is firm (full), and smooth. Flavor is of dry malts..lacking balance with the hops, which is okay for the style. The flavor is decidedly dry and metallic, especially in the body and finish. Overall, the metallic tones in this beer are not to my liking, resulting in lower scores. Sorry, Saranac...not a winner with this one in my opinion.

There's an interesting blend of hops and malt in this beer. Pours a copper color, topped with a small head and not much lacing. The aroma was malty with some spicy character. The flavor starts malty, followed by a crisp hoppy bitter bite. Pretty good and smooth.
