Had this at the Mensa Regional Gathering in Huntsville (if I may brag!) Has a nice malty, somewhat fruity, subtly hoppy aroma that invites a taste. It pours a clear amber-golden with a decent white head. Flavor is malty, a little fruity, a little yeasty and a little hoppy; bitterness is mild. Texture is smooth with a good firm tingle.

Bottle@omhper. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is vegetables, some fruits and mild bready malts as well. Flavour is boiled peas, some fruits, along with some floral hoppyness as well. Mild sweet malts as well.

A slightly better than average offering for the Pale Ale. Nice hopiness and citrus flavors, but just not as pronounced as maybe it should be. No head - nada, zilch, zero, nothing - absolutely no head. No lacing either. Decent flavor and aroma. I'll continue to drink it if it's around.

some grains and a touch of hops, maybe some dried grass too .. decent mouthfeel, enjoyable and refreshing at least .. a simple product .. . Last time I went to the grocery store I caused a lot of commotion cause I tried to buy that thing at the register that separates your food from the other guy's food.. "No, I need this! You don't know what its like where I live..."

This poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma contains some mild perfume, oranges, and grapefruit. The flavor is ok but pretty subdue with some caramel and citrus showing. Overall decent session beer if nothing else.

Thanks for the bottle Brad, much appreciated. What we have here is a hazy orange beer, complimented with a large and generous frothy off white foam. Hops are present in the aroma, and I’m leaning towards english style hops here, but I’m probably wrong. SOme caramel and oranges too. Somewhat cheesy. Caramel flavours befriended by some pine hops, and some bitter sour nuances. Finish is unpleasant due to a mild burning sensation. Why it’s doing this at 5%, I do not know. Thanks Brad!

Ba Humbug. Some one needs to change the laws in Alabama. THis was was bad, the pour was light amber with 0 and i mean 0 head or bubbles. Poured like flat soda. Aroma, was there any slight caramel. Flavor had a hint of carmel. Mouthfeel was sooooo flat.

Poor Alabama!!! Wow, this wasn't so hot. Clear amber color with absolutely no head, even in bfeld's head magnifying glassware. No lacing. Flat and then some. Aroma was slight caramel malts. Flavor was caramel with a cedar type wood touch. Mouthfeel was incredibly flat and watered down. Bad stuff. Drank it like juice.

Rerate 3/22/05: Once again after quality control issues were fixed, the off flavor are absent and you get a better view of the malt and hops. The old recipe is fairly dry and has a crisp bitterness in the back. The recipe coming out in a few days has a bit more floral/fruity hop character in the aroma and flavor.
1/5/05: So I’m the first person not from Alabama to rate this beer. Cool. It’s also my first Alabama beer. This on is kind of hard to rate, though. Personally, I kind of liked it, but something tells me it would be considered flawed according to style. It’s pours a pretty amber that takes on a slight haze from the bit of yeast in the bottle. The aroma has a touch of peppery hops with a little lemon zest. The odd thing is a huge bubblegum ester aroma that would be right at home in an authentic German hefeweizen, except this isn’t supposed to be a hefe. Personally, I think it’s kind of a cool twist, but not what you expect from a hefe. Solid carbonation and a nice maltiness make for an interesting beer with a bit of a weak finish.

a bubbly orange here and a quickly vanishing head. This pale offers a slight and bright bitterness. Body and flavor are light and fresh on the palate. A touch of orange spice and a hint of lemon. Grassy flavors along with light cookie malts. Watered down finish is wet and crisp. Subdued hops, clean and swillable
