Settle in with Wisconsin's Snowshoe Ale. This beer is brewed with a blend of American and German malts. A complicated decoction mash process ensures a rich malty flavor. We also infuse generous amounts of Yakima Golding and Bavarian Hallertau Hops to add a special note of warmth for your winter evening's enjoyment. Expect this beer to be a beautiful copper-red, with a fruity ale body and a spiced hop finish. Then sit back and rejoice in the season because it's these Wisconsin winters that keep the whiners out.

I'd say this is a fine red ale from the well-respected microbrewery of New Glarus. It pours into the glass a sexy red/light amber. The taste is smooth and easy, excellent for a session. The sweet malts premier with a flowing grand mouth washing followed by a faint settling dance of hops a long the tongue. A hearty cheers to the Snowshoe!!

Pours a crystal clear dark amber with a 2 finger off white head that disappears fairly slow. Lots of carbonation. Aroma has some sweet caramel and bread notes to it. Taste is both sweet and slightly metallic. Also has a bit of sugar cookie dough in it. Decent sipper.

First let me preface this by stating that the previous and forthcoming reviews of all these tasty Wisconsin beers were all graciously provided by Travis and John. My apologies gentlemen for not stating the proper respect in each review, but I unloaded all of these tasty treats before I realized that there was now no way of remembering which one of you were responsible for each bottle. Thanks again to both of you for the wonderful generosity. Snowshoe pours a clear amber~copper color with a collapsing white head and streaky lacing. Mild malt content with some spicy and floral hops. Caramel, crystal malt and some minor nuttiness. Easy going with a very clean finish. Nice Amber.

courtesy of pfoxyjohn. for a style that usually lack punch, this was a tasty sessionable alternative. rich malts combined with just enough floral hops makes this one stand out from the crowd (of reds and ambers at least). Blew away the Bells Amber I had the other day...

Thanks for the bottle John! .. . aroma of bark, light molasses, and light bitters .. . low foam, low lacing, low down dirty dawg! .. . a clean amber but lacks an edge to distinguish between other ambers .. . a good session .. . Tell her I'm rich, and I'm good looking, and I have, uh, a rapist's wit.

Appearance is more brown than red, white to tanish head. Smell is sweet, like candy sweet, with a little hint of stale malt. Mouthfeel is quite good, as with most from New Glaurus. To keep it simple, this is just good beer flavor. The finish is kind of weak and unremarkable but overall not bad.

Bottled (thanks Mes). Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, syrup, nectar and some and mild alcohol. Flavour is fruits, some syrup and some rather huge grassy finish.

Courtesy of pfoxyjohn via beer trade. Pours a clear amber with a good creamy head and nice lacing. Good carbonation. Aromas of sweet malts, caramel and slight hops. Taste is malty with a more than expected hops finish that is very nice.

This one poured a ncie amber color with a frothy head. It had a somewhat mild aroma, but had a nice slightly hopped flavor with a firm malt backbone. Went down nice and smooth.
