Our porter is a full-bodied, semi-sweet dark ale, with distinct notes of caramel and chocolate. Brewed in the loving memory of our Brew master’s grandfather, the Captain.

Sept. 2010 - Dark pour, fruity-ashy aroma. Lots of sweetness behind the heavy bitter roast which finishes with a touch of lacticness. Okay, but not wow'ing.

On tap @ Moon River in Savannah. Dark black brown pour with a tan head leaving some tight lacing. Semi-sweet chocolates, some coffee, toasted malts in the appealing aromas. Taste is fairly rich with the chocolate and coffee bitter upfront with a slight brown sugar and toast flavor. Nice porter.

The appearance was what you expect from a porter, black but not opaque with a smaller, short-live head. The thing that really makes this stand out is the aroma. It's smells like a bouquet of flowers. The flavor features some light roastiness and some dry chocolate. Not a flavor bomb, but an interesting porter nonetheless.

This was sampled at the Chattanooga Brew fest. Dark brown appearance, malty, chocolate flavor, fairly bland. Nothing special at all even for a porter.

A pretty good beer. Aroma is faint coffee. Fairly sweet version of a porter. Mild bitter flavor with a hershey bar type taste, fairly tame overall. Aye, Aye Cap'n!
