Strong aroma is richly hoppy and has evergreen and citrus tints, the latter being mainly orange. It pours a pretty clear coppery orange with a very thick, if not persistent, off-white head. Flavor is strongly hoppy, quite bitter but not nastily so, with just a touch of citrus. Texture is smooth yet edgy, fairly tingly.

Mar 1, 2009 Looks like a slightly darker pale lager. Has a thin creamy looking alabaster head. Aroma is medium hoppy. Taste is strong IPA but does not really approach the level of a good IIPA. Big bitter sensation builds on the back of my throat. Decent carbonation for a DIPA. Seems to hide the 7.5% alky fairly well. Terrible medicinal linger, seems to last forever. On style for an IPA but not quite for a DIPA.

a little on the thin side for an imperial. solid but uninspired effort from mendicino. there are too many bigger and better beers out there to buy this one again, though.

Poured a nice amber color with minimal head. Aroma of hops, but not over powering. I'm not a real hop head, but this is one of the better imperial IPA's that I've had the pleasure to drink. If this is your style of beer I'd recommend.

Another Mendocino winner in this house. Amber body and decent white frothy head. It is everything you'd expect from a decent IPA. The bouquet of hops tickles the nose as it gently attacks the palate. It is hoppy but not so over bearing to make it a difficult drink

This was a nice one. it poured a nice amber color with a nice frothy white head and decent lacing. It had a noticeable hoppy aroma with flavors of pine needles and hops.

Dark copper pour with surprisingly good head and lacing. Weak aroma of citrus. Flavor was malty and really bitter...all flavors citrus. One of the hoppiest/bitter beers I've had. Not as full as I would have liked, but a good beer nonetheless.

Pours a nice amber color with an ample head and nice lacing. Good carbonation. Aroma is sweet malts rather balanced with the massive hops, but more sweet than hoppy. Taste is balanced, with a sweet start and a slightly strong alcoholly bitterness in the end.

This tastey brew pours an amber-orange colour with a medium sized white head. The head slowly dissipates to a whipped cream like top Aroma is of pine, grapefruit and dank earth. Mouthfeel is wonderfully carbonated, silky, hop infused and purely delicious. Taste is of citrus fruit and lots of hops. This review only reinforces my super hoped beer bias, but i dont care- it was a mighty fine bier.

Bottle, Mendocino Winter Seasonal IPA, 2007, courtesy beastiefan2k. Full orange colored pour with a great head and lacing. The aroma was full piney-resinous notes with some citrus and fruity sweetness to it. The flavor was wildly sweet and rather bitter at the same time, full fruity malt base, lots of pine resin flavors, grapefruits, melons, apricots. Mouthfeel was full and had almost a finely ground powder type feel within it. A remarkably enjoyable dIPA I enjoyed while doing some seriuos Fall yard cleanup, surprised to see it not scored higher. Thanks, Eugene!
