About:
Cheap pale lager is beer and I like it, but lambic is the beer of beers, like Harley is to motorcycles, lambic is to beer.

IMHO, hops were originally added as a beer preservative and I consider them to be bitter adjuncts which hide the real interesting attributes of beer.

Not bad for a pale lager. Fun and interesting. I buy a case once in a while. Goes down fairly easy. Very gentleman like for the lager lover.Would not hesitate to buy a case of this brew.

A big black pour that lets you know this should be an impy stout. Yep impy stout all the way. Big long bitter medicine finsh. Impy stout. not smoked, alky is very prevalent in the flavors.

Hoppy Stony Face Red Ale 2.1 cheapdark From a big bomber that came from califor-eye-aye; big thanks to cquiroga for this collectable piece. Poured into a big glass mug. Cloudy maroon with a rocky alabaster head. Smell is just fresh and yeasty bearish. First taste is choco impression that immediately goes alky and then back to carob. Each swig provides that evolution of taste. Rather strong, let me check the alky; says 5.6% but it sure tastes much more potent than that, mor like 7%. Not sure if you would call this balanced, considering the bitter malt in there. Strong, with plenty of beer personality going on here. Not quite the carbonation that I have become used to in the other hoppy face beers. Finish is long lingering malt and alky bitter medicine. Tho not tremendously enjoyable in flavor, I did rather take pleasure in the opportunity to try this brew. Thanks Chris, I owe you ten! You are certainly a generous trader. Hoppy face stoney red. One 5oz sample of a 6 beer sampler at 3 son’s in Wexford, nice place. Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Supposedly by the DR owner. Smell is a little fruity but not volatile like most BWs. Looks somewhat like tea with a frothy head. No visible carbonation. Though you can tell this is a high alky brew, it does hide the 11% rather well. A little more polished than most BW’s. Some constant fruit in the background. This stuff is what it is; an on style barleywine. Perhaps a little more enjoyable than others. Seems to be a little more refined than most American barley and wheat wines I’ve had. Comes across like the grey area between euro and American BW styles. Leaves a mild alky warming sensation on the finish. DR barleyWS5L3F1T306

One 5 oz sample of a 6 beer sampler at 3 son’s in Wexford, nice place. Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Supposedly by the DR owner. Smell is rather fruity and volatile. Appearance is very appealing and stacks up with the looks of any attractive brew. Coal black with a choco mousse head. Head fades after a while. Strong bitter and burned alky first taste impact. Rude and crude, it is what it is; a good on style impy stout. In yer face and burns a little when you swallow. A warm glow follows the brew into you hatch. Long bitter black burned wood & alky linger on the finish. DR rabid S5L5F1T3O6
