Choclate and Porter Style Ale. Rich and Rewarding. The natural mocca flavours of the four different roasted malts used to brew this rich, dark beer are complemented by the addition of real chocolate during maturation. Warm, complex and smooth, it has a long, clean finish. A ideal dessert or digestif beer, it is also a superb match for beef or game stews.

2 * 330 ml capped bottles, labeled as " Chocolate Porter ". Poured in the original Meantime stemmed tulip pint glass a clear oak-burgundy coloured Porter with a one finger beige and soapy foamy head that had a mid-sized to long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Low carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is roasted malts, cocoa powder, dark bitter chocolate, mocca and burnt coffee beans. The flavour is roasted malts, cocoa powder, dark bitter chocolate, roasted coffee beans, spicy, strong vanilla, flowery, roses and notes of ashes. The mouthfeel is light crispy, creamy, sparkling, quite thick and bitter. The texture is oily. This medium to full bodied Porter has a long-dry bitter finish. A well flavoured Porter from London.

Enjoyed a bottle at Bistro L'Autre Oeil, Aylmer. Pours a thin brownish foamy head but goes away after a bit. Has a very dark brown appearance. Ok lacing. Nice mild aromas of chocolate and dark roasted malts and light vanilla notes. Flavours of mocha, chocolate and roasted malts. Some notes of caramel and a bit of vanilla in the finish. Medium retention. Wet mouthfeel, light creaminess. Very good. :)

Dark brown, almost black with decent light brown foam head, lacing to glass. Aroma is chocolate all right. Taste likewise, some caramel, some toast. Nice long lasting aftertaste. (Den Haag 201307)

Interesting bottle shape for sure. You can cut out the bottom and use it as a funnel. The beer pours a very dark brown, almost black colour, with a thin brown ring. Chocolate was the name of the game in both the aroma and the flavour - it couldn't be escaped. Delightfully tasting.

Bottle: Poured a clear light brown color porter with a large foamy head with OK retention and some light lacing. Aroma of dry coffee notes with light chocolate ester is pleasant. Taste is also a mix between some nutty malt with light notes of dry coffee and very subtle notes of chocolate. Body is too thin for style with good carbonation. A bit disappointed as I was expecting a lot more chocolate and a fuller body.

The beer poured a black colour with a thin tan ring. The aroma was dark chocolate, cocoa, and a faint hint of hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation, and a smooth feel. The flavour was scrumptious with a nice velvety slightly chocolate taste in every mouthfeel, and a nice bitter finish. -

330 ml bottle Pours a clear very dark brown ale with ruby highlights in the tulip. 2 finger frothy cap lasts and laces. Soft carbonation... looks like a typical London porter. Aroma of roasty grains cocoa tones are pronounced, demure sweeness, bit of earthyness and wet hay - well proportioned and pleasant nose, like a cold chocolate tart. Flavor profile puts roastiness and cocoa up front where a beautifully light sweetness joins it to give a chocolate toffee-roasty malt effect then the long finish goes pleasantly bitter with cocoa and hops joining forces to pucker up the finish. A nice warm satisfying after glow from the well hidden alcohol content. One of the best chocolate porters I’ve sampled. Very well made and judicious use and combining of flavors puts this over the top. The experience was made all the more pleasant as I was cleaning my palate with pecan pie in between sips.....a match made in valhalla.

Ruby brown, small bubbly head. Strong aroma of chocolate, vanilla and caramel. Toasted flavour of dark chocolate and caramel, some subtle tones of vanilla and cocoa powder. Quite thin body. Bitter aftertaste of chocolate and cocoa.

Rerate, 330 ml bottle, as Meantime Chocolate Porter, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. The beer tasted even better now than the first time, and the chocolate is not too much. Lovely! I’m upping it a couple points. Original rating: 330 ml bottle, bought at Peckham’s, Glasgow (£1.99). ABV is 6.5%. Nearly black opaque colour, dark brown / ruby in the highlights. Large tan head, does not last forever. Distinct aroma of chocolate / cocoa, also notes of roasted malts and vanilla. The flavour is quite smooth and sweet with a very moderate roasty bitterness, again with distinct notes of chocolate / cocoa and vanilla - a bit too much for me. Still a nice "change of pace" beer.

Dark brown colour, brown mediumsized head. Roasted malts, dark chocolate and caramel in aroma. Flavour is strong roasted malts and barley along with toffee, black coffee and dark chocolate. Excellent brew and palate. Totally awesome!
