On tap at brewpub. Labelled English Brown Ale, but the site points me here. Okay. Dark amber pour, dark caramel backbone with a surprising level of hop bitterness at the back end. Funky, euro hop profile, unique for a brown ale, but pretty good. Had in a sampler and selected this for a pint.

Hmmmm, this was interesting for an "amber," as it got caught between a brown ale and an amber. The pour was dark amber to brown with a small little head that actually yielded decent lacing. The aroma was sweet and malty and this one was similarly flavored. Hops were absent in the finish, which is pretty atypical of an amber ale, and there were no caramel flavors. Again, like the other McKenzie's I had tonite, this was pretty darn drinkable and smooth.
