This beer pours your typical lager gold with a thin white head. The aroma is grassy malt, with a little hops. The taste is more of the same. Refreshing as all heck however.

Love my Maverick beer, but take these reviews with a grain of salt cause I've never seen more inconsistant brewing ever...when it's good, it's great, when it's not, you have to dump your enitre purchace. Nice Dortmunder aroma for sure. Lots of bold malts, nice sweetness and a slight lemony scent. Soft and smooth - very appealing. It appears that I struck a good batch. Slight hop tone as well. Hazy yellow gold. Solid average sized white cap that has good retention and the ability to really make your glass filthy. There is alot to taste here as this brew is quite complex. Good mix of bready malts, obvious lemon (kinda like merengue), slight but appealing sour tinge, and what I'm now convniced is a herbal note (thanks Pootz)...seems slightly medicinal - very very faint. Mouthfeel is really smooth with a mild tangy mouthwatering quality and a faint tart after taste to go along with some dry malt effect. Damn fine brew. Very creamy and very enjoyable. I have no qualms about ranking this at the top of Canadain Lagers...as long as it doesn't taste like crap.

Bottle: Thanks Mike> A hard pour puts a crystal clear golden lager with a 2 finger rocky cap in the lager glass. Fair head retention modest lacing. Aroma is teeming with fresh multi grain bread smells and a light lemon tone....good start...smells like a Dortmunder lager should..to come to Munich this aroma must turn up the tettnang hops to get that herbal aroma as well as the lemon from short boil nobles. Sturdy malt spine, rich buttery mouthfeel, malty rounded character. Up front you chew on some substantial bready 2-row malts then the very well done kettle hopping balances with the herbal-lemony snap of nobel varieties...still the malt is a tad forward of the hops ( as it should be)....mid palate this translates to a mouthful of fresh cracked ryebread with unsweetened lemon-herb spread.....finish is clean and lightly drying whith a nice biscuity snap and a lingering musty-bready aftertaste. Non cloying but bready and citrusy in profile like a Munich edelhell...a very good Canadian version true to style and with lovely mellow lagered delivery....very much like Hacker-Pschorr Edelhell. This is a very good stand up lager...verging on great but to make that hurtle the brewer will have to bulk up the body a tad and make his hop mixture more pungent...still a very good Canadian micro version of a Munich styled helles.

The beer pours a clear dark gold color, large and foamy white head. One inch of thick foam, left some thin lace lines. Nice aroma, what you expect from an all malt lager, biscuity with some clean fresh grass smells. The flavour seemed a bit 'off'. Not exactly sure how to describe it, but I found myself wanting more. It had nice malty grains and a pleasant hop finish. Maybe there was something in the aftertaste, not sure. Good carbonation, it has a nice clean and crisp mouthfeel, leaving a dry finish.

pours a nice golden yellow with a nice head that quieted down after a while, decent lacing in the brew. not getting a whole lot in smell, faint smell of apricots, thats about it. as mmmmbeer said the taste is a bit creamy and smooth, but i dont taste any hops in this brew. very smooth aftertaste... i like the floaties of sediment in the brew!! :) but all in all this is a average lager... but considering this is Mavericks first beer (that i know of) it diffently gives them upside... i look forward to seeing what else they produce in the future! good beer with substance to drink on a hot summers day!! :)

For a beer that’s brewed in down town Edmonton this a surprisingly good beer. The beer pours a very nice golden yellow with a very clean white head that quickly disappears. The aroma of this beer is my favorite part it smells strongly of creamy caramel and sweet apricots. The first thing you notice when you drink is that there is just enough hops to give a hint of bitterness but not so much you can’t enjoy it. There’s some what of a creamy flavor in the back ground that makes the mouth feel very smooth. But the one thing I’ll say about this new brewery there not consistent, I’ve had this beer a few times now and a couple of those times this beer was crap, with large amounts of sediment resting in the bottle and a old moldy taste about it. But for the most part this a very enjoyable beer and I hope Maverick will continue to put out quality beers.
