A dark brown, nearly black colored beer. A big creamy textured tan head rose and stayed around a long time. Left behind is an ompressive thick ringlet and film. A light medium bodied, well carbonated beer. It is a well crafted balance in nose and taste of coffee and citrus. Very good.

Another black IPA. This one actually is quite tasty though. Reminded me kind of like Cigar's City Jose Marti Porter, but not as strong. Maybe a little more chocolate malt than most black IPAs. Not really a fan of the black IPA, but this one is decent. Sampled in the Spring '11 Variety Pack. Nothing really blowing me away yet from Magic Hat, but they are an ok brewer. Think I am liking Samuel Adams a little better for the area and styles though.

A winter seasonal IPA from magic hat. Strong smell of hops, as expected. What was not expected was the color of this beer. Dark brown, almost black. Strong IPA flavor, dominated by the hops. Interesting IPA, but not one of my favorites.
