The original Extra Pale is the one that started it all back in 1989. A bright golden hued ale with a medium body and a crisp spicy /floral hop character and very mild bitterness. This unfiltered ale has a pleasing mouth feel and remains our most popular brew. This beer goes with everything and every occasion.

12oz bottle pours mildly hazy gold with weak white head. The mild aroma is malty and has faint biscuit malt and little else. The taste is very much the same starting with a sweet maltiness, lightly roasted malts and a note of biscuit. Midway and to the finish the sweet malts are joined by aged blunted citrus hops creating a mild sweet orange juice malt tea flavor.

Yeasty with a slight hop aroma. Citrus grapefruit rind taste impact. Slight haze in an otherwise ubiquitous pale yellow appearing brew. Decent carbonation. Finish is not quite IPA but it is certainly irritating.

WoW - Extra IPA, well it might be considered EXTRA WIMPY! Light flaver, light body. In reality the flavor is fairly good, but there is just not a lot of it!

I had this beer with dinner at the Bottega Restaurant in Nappy Valley, California. This beer was quite nice but tasted to me more like an East Coast IPA - very piney, little floral/citrus notes. It was good just not what I was expecting in a state that is home to Lagunitas, Russian River, and Sierra Nevada.

Lacking... I didn't expect a ton-'o-hops in a pale ale, but did expect some... missed it. Very lightly hoppy, but more grassy like a barely average lager perhaps. Thin and very light bodied. Bitter finish.

A nearly watered light amber colored beer. A medium sized, frothy textured, white head rises briefly above. Disappears fairly quickly, leaving nothing but a thin soapy ringlet. The nose bready malt and faint grassy hops. The tasting matches, but a little more pronounced. An effervescent, light body. Probably works as a session beer, but no much more than that.

I was thinking that was I was going to be enjoying a nice pale ale with dinner, but this was no pale ale. Aroma is peachy somehow, but not juicy peaches...more akin to unripe peaches...green I suppose. Some grass notes too. Sweet on the tongue, lacking any noticeable hop profile that would assert itself and remind me that I’m drinking a pale ale. Seemes a bit buttery too. Not awful...just....next!

nice malt/hop interplay here, which is the only thing making this a slightly above average pale. it was a fairly pleasant surprise. clean, crisp, and refreshingly dry in the finish. 7/09 - not nearly as good last time. fully average, but i'll only knock the score a bit unless it's the same several times in a row.

Bottle courtesy of durhambeer. Pours copper with a white head. Smells spicy with some underlying caramel hints. Tastes lightly bitter and resiny with some nice malty undertones.

This brew is a pretty average beer. It poured a golden hazy color with a small white head that left some lacing. The mouthfeel was medium and crisp still. The aroma was of floral and hops. The flavor was well balanced for PA mainly hop flavor but a little malt balance. Overall my only gripe is the low alcohol content but i wouldn't ding the beer because the flavor was good.
