The companion beer to Long Trail Ale. The pour is copper in colour, pretty clear, and a ton of bubbles. The head is a thin creamy film. Aroma is toasted nuts, caramel, floral hops, and bread. Mouthfeel is creamy and full. Flavor is rich and full of bready sweet notes and finishes with a spicy hop ending.

A bold amber colored beer with a moderate frothy textured off white head rising above. There's some hang time but not much lacing left behind. Bold caramel and toffee sweetness in the nose. Yeast and toffee dominate the tasting. There is a bitterness, faint and not sure where it is coming from. Creamy texture on the tongue.

Enjoyed in Vermont. Pours a caramel colour with a light beige head and very nice sticky lacing. Dark fruit aromas. Floral perfume taste with fruity malts. Altbier malts eventually comes out in the finish. Quite smooth mouthfeel and a nice brew overall.

Pours a clear reddish amber with a skiff of beige head that doesn’t amount to much; finally settles to a thin (but consistent) film. Okay retention; good lacing. The aroma has some slight beer sourness with some strong caramel malt notes. Simple and straightforward. The taste is of strong malt up front with a hearty hop backbone. Cherries, earthy hop flavors, biscuity malt, and a touch of burnt almost chocolate sweetness at the finish. The mouth feel is light bodied with a lingering but not stifling finish and a good level of carbonation.

Long Trail Double Bag- a nice oxidized copper colored ale. A good representative US made Altbier. Caramel on the nose with a subtle passing of hops. Creamy mouth feel on the thin head. The barest of biscut on the aftertaste which is very clean. I will enjoy this sixer! Finished the six pak- this is pretty good beer! Will have to keep some on hand!

A rust copper colored a ale with a off-white/cream colored head that sticks around. Has an aroma similar to an alt style beer from Germany, bitter hops with hints of caramel. Also tasted caramel, bitter hops and that special taste that makes altbier so unique.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz. bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: It had a deep copper color with visible carbonation and nice clarity. The head was thin, light tan in color and faded fast leaving spotty bubbles on top of the liquid. A small amount of lace was left on the glass. Smell: The aroma had a sweet malty character with caramel notes and mild hops. Taste/Mouth feel: On the tongue there is a thick sweet malt presence with sweet biscuit and caramel notes. The sweetness is balanced nicely by a strong herbal and leafy hops that seems to take over by the finish. The finish is slow and the flavor seems to stick on the tongue. It has a medium body with a creamy smooth texture and carbonation is active yet very mild. Notes: It is a strong beer with bold flavor. Very well done!

This was pleasantly smooth. Smells and tastes of delicious caramel malts. The carbonation is so soft, which makes this a dangerously quick beer drink considering the ABV and the fact that you don't taste any of that alcohol at all. A great treat that I will probably never find again.
