Uerige Embroidery is available twice a year in the disservice – on the third Tuesday in January and October. This beer is brewed with more malt and hops and is much richer than Uerige Alt: 6% alcohol is hidden behind the intense, elegant aroma. The unusual name derives from the fact that in earlier times "stickum" ("behind the back") was told that the master brewer was probably a little too generous in weighing the ingredients. The higher alcohol content allows storage times that go considerably beyond the minimum fresh ness guaranteed by us.

330 ml longneck swingtop bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%. Brown colour, large off-white head. Aroma of malts, earth, blackcurrants, dark bread, herbs and spices. The flavour has the same elements, some caramel too, but is not too sweet. Decent bitterness. Overall an excellent beer.

A translucent golden brown with the huge creamy head that German beers are noted for. Cereal malts, light caramel, and toasted malts dominate the nose. Mouthfeel is average. A grainy flavored altbier with mild sweet notes of caramel and fruit. Quite enjoyable

High hopes.... eh, draws dark brown with a faint head and slight lacing. Whisky-alcohol aroma with a light malty nuttiness and mild hops. Flavor matches aroma.

330 ml fliptop bottle. Poured a mahogany or ruby brown colored ale with a good two fingers beige foamy head that had a good retention. Active carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is roasted malts, caramel, molasses, dried fruits and a touch of smoke. The flavour is heavy toasted malts, caramel, spicy, licorice, molasses, flowery, violet, fruity, nuts, orange peel, raisins and grassy hops. The mouthfeel is slight crispy and very smooth. This medium bodied ale has a lingering sweety syrupy and a solid bitter finish. Delicious!

Bottled (from bierkompass.de). Deep rubyish amber colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is some caramel malts, crisp bisquits, some nuttyness as well as mildly toasted notes. Flavour is quite floral and grassy hops along with some earth and also mild notes of caramel and alcohol. Also some mild notes of fruityness. Also some mild chocolaty notes in the finish. A very nice strong Alt.

Cool bottle - pours an dark tea brown with minimal head and some lacing. Sour bourbon-like aroma with some malts, nuts, and hops. Taste is slightly sour with some maltiness and a decent hops bitterness.

Odd flip top shaped bottle 11.2 oz. In a big 22 oz shapely beerglass. Hazy lighter brown color. Farmy musty barnyard olfactory with a strong alky base aroma of caramel and sweet candy. Oooh, quite a strong initial alky experience. Rather nock you off your pleasant contentment feeling. Rather strong initially, did I say that already? Aroma gets more farmlike as the session continues. Definately a stronger beer but it becomes more acceptable as the session moves past the inception. inish is surprisingly acceptable for a stronger beer. leaves an overal good experience. S6L4F2T4O12

Not only is the beer inside the bottle very good, the bottle itself is unique and very eyecatching. Shaped like a German handgrenade, the beer won't blow up the taste buds with anything unusual, but it you will be happy that you took the time to drink this. An aroma of sweet caramel malts, earthy hops, slightly nutty, and a bit oxidized. A ruddy brown, hazy color with a 1-finger thick head. Caramel malts, grassy with just a touch of spices makes this one a drinker. Reminded me of a subdued English barleywine in some ways. Very tasty beer. I enjoyed this one much more than their Dopple Sticke.
