Bottle. Colour - clear rust colour, highly effervescent, thin creamy white head, no lacing. Aroma - cereal grains, caramel, earthy hops, light citrus. Mouthfeel - medium bodied, well carbonated. Flavour - sweet caramel malt and biscuits up front, and a nice spicy hop finish in the end. Not a lot of bitterness as is how it should be with an altbier.

341 ml capped bottle. Poured in the original Dieu du Ciel stemmed glass a clear and mahogany-old-reddish-deep-copper coloured Altbier with a one finger dense, creamy and light beige foamy head that had no end and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Great lacing. The aroma is solid toasted malts, notes of caramel and faint earthy hops. The flavour is toasted and caramel malts, toasted bread, biscuits, dried fruits, nuts and a spicy side, cinnamom, vanilla ending with a peppery touch. The mouthfeel is fulled, thick, syrupy and smooth. The texture is oily. This medium bodied Altbier has a long nutty and bitter finish. A well flavoured Rescousse. This Altbier, brewed in Montreal, can easily compete with the best Altbieren of Düsseldorf ! Great job, Jean-François !

Poured a very minimal amount of head and goes away pretty quickly. Has a slightly cloudy dark amber appearance. Weak lacing. Good balance of hops and malt aromas, mainly citrus hops and bready type malts. Flavours are of citrus hops as well as nuts, toffee and sweet malts. A little bit of bitterness. Some hints of corn too and some dry fruits in the finish. Mouthfeel is somewhat lively with average carbonation. Pretty good and easy to drink.

6-pack from the Marché Omni. Pours a copper-amber colour with an average light beige head, that does stick around for a while and leaves great lacing. Good bread-like malts scent with notes of roasted and caramel ones. Smooth mouthfeel, medium-bodied. The taste is nicely balanced between the cereal grain malt, some caramel sweetness and some lovely hop bitterness which finishes things great. The aftertaste gives out nice flavours as well, that lingers a very long time, that are fruity and herby. A really nice altbier, another great brew from Dieu du Ciel.

Brown, white head leaving nice lacing,a mix of dried fruits, toffee, sweet malts on the palate with an attack of hops at the end quite surprisingly it reminds me some good Scotch Ale...I would say not a typical Altbier but nonetheless quite enjoyable to drink...Dieu du ciel beers are a good bet!!!

Brought back from Van by Ichorm. thanks! Dark copper, little rust, soapy off white head. looks like many b-wines that I have had. Smells malty, toffee, carmel, brown sugar, maybe over ripe plums (something fruity with a trace just a trace of yeast). Taste is a little bit bitter, medium to thin muothfeel. Its one of those german beers that make me feel unwell. Flavours are nice but I didnt finish the bottle.
