From Central City, in a bomber. Made by god knows who for Ruckus Brewing - Legacy's website seems to be gone. Very confusing as to the genealogy of this one. 9% ABV sounds promising. Clear copper pour with a quickly vanishing white head. Bouquet has hops - not all that strong for a DIPA - and malt, no pine notes, and alcohol. Flavour was bitter to the point of near sour, and the almost sour at the finish as well, plus lots of alcohol burn at the end. No citrus or pine resin for the palate. This seems an unbalanced beer, bordering on crude, maybe the worst DIPA I've had.

This is suppose to be an Imperial. I do't get that boldness. Bright amber colored beer with a medium sized foamy off white head. Hang time is not impressive. Sttles into a medium sized ringlet. The nose is faint sweet malt and woodsy-floral hops. The taste, bolder than that pretty much matched that profile. A light bodied beer.

Strong aroma is quite hoppy, more grassy and floral than woody or evergreen. It pours a lovely dark amber with a rather nice ivory head. Flavor is very hoppy, again emphasis on grassy and floral taste with a woody undertone and little bitterness, as well as a subtle malty note. Full-bodied texture is lively and fizzy, leaving a strong hoppy tingle. This one is worth seeking! Makes a nice accompaniment to a big bowl of decepticon stew. ;)

A bomber picked up in Reading back in March following a visit to the brewery and a private tour with a couple mates. Hedonism is still my fave offering from this brewer, but I'm enjoying this also. Sparkly and crystal-clear golden hue with a modest head and moderate lacing. Not extremely hoppy in the aroma, but fresh and clean smelling. Tangy on the palate, but maybe a tad light for the style. Balanced, with a sweet malty finish, and with its 9.0% ABV well cloaked. I'd place it more like a regular IPA, even of a British style perhaps, not exactly what we're accustomed to in our IIPAs here in the states. But a decent quaff nonetheless, one I'd rate higher in an IPA category, and a beer I'd definitely go for again. I have 3 bombers left, and I'll revisit this brew again in another couple months.

Bottle from Stateline. The pour was amber orange in color, ok initial head, but it thinned quickly to a very thin ring, disappointing for the style. The aroma was bitter citrus rinds, grapefruits. The flavor was same with some teabags. A remarkable orange-rindy bitterness characterized this for sure. The mouthfeel was a little on the thin side for the style, quite bitter all the way down.

Grapefruit. Smells like grapefruit. Tastes like grapefruit...or should I say more like the rind of a grapefruit. Not an overly rich mouthfeel, maybe a tad on the thin side. Really bitter. Like maybe a notch below Hopsickle, but hard to think of another beer more bitter than this. Enjoyable, if maybe a little over done.

Poured a reddish amber color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, citrus fruits, tangerine, light floral hops, and caramel malts as well. Taste was very similar to the aroma, with a dry strawiness, and a bit of alcohol as well. Moderate bitterness.
