Our take on a traditional Quebecois style of beer. In response to customer requests for a darker beer than our popular Pale Ale, we have come up with a flavourful blend of dark roasted malts and spicy hops for an unforgettably smooth and aromatic drinking experience! Need we say more?

6-pack from the LCBO. Pours a clean copper colour with a big frothy light-beige head that lasts a while gives out a few bubbly lace. Great fruity roasted malt nose with lots of coffee at first, and quite nutty. Decent fruity malt taste with a little of the nuts and mild hop bittering things a bit. This is quite a nice red ale. One of the better ones I have had for this style.

Tried as Lake Of Bays Rousse Ale
The beer poured a translucent ruby red colour with a creamy tan coloured head. The aroma is caramel malt, with some weak floral hop notes. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was primarily malty, sweet caramel, and a bitter finish. Went down easy, but an average amber at best.

Bottle from LCBO: pours a dark brown with reddish tones. Nice cap and lacing. Aroma reveals a good mix of malt and hop varieties. Roasty-toasty-toffee some earthyness, pine and fruits. Flavor is equally as hard to define...a pleasant amalgam of malts with enough hop balance to keep it interesting. Long finish with roasty-toasty malt tones eclipsed by an increasing bittering. A very nice brew, verging on complex but very approachable....a good rendition of the Quebec original style.
