Update: I’ve had this since Arlen left but didn’t rate it then. It’s gone downhill since. I’ll rerate when I get the chance, but I didn’t want to give the wrong current impression about this one. Wow. I’m trying hard to find something critical to say about this, but I simply can’t. Well, unless you consider "floaties" as bad and then you’d think this was aweful, but you’d be a fool. And I can’t think of what else to add that hasn’t already been said. So yeah, there’s hops *in* the bottle if you haven’t figured that out yet. Otherwise it pours a very cloudy amber color with a nice head and some great lacing. It must have mellowed quite a bit from when it first came out because I didn’t have any problem with overcarbonation at all. Scent is out of this world if you’re a hop-head. Very citrusy. What seperates this from an I-IPA is this, while very hoppy, isn’t nearly as bitter nor out of balance. I can’t believe how complex this is. Nice citrus base with a bit of grainy malt and some very subtle natural spices. Mouthfeel is very creamy with some mineral to it, but it’s not as carbonated as I was expecting. Overall, I gotta say that I can’t imagine a better, more balanced, or more complex IPA. As much as I hate giving perefects scores (only happened once before), I gotta give it up for this outstanding IPA.

Pours a cloudy amber with a lively white head. The bottle is a slow foamer, but it could still catch you off guard if you weren’t expecting it. The hop petals start off mixed in with the beer, but start floating to the very top of the foam making this look like a bowl full of some sort of mutant rice crispies. The aroma is nicely hoppy, lots of fresh cut grass in with the piney hops. The flavor has a nice kick of slightly toasty malt to balance out the lingering hop bitterness that follows. I don’t think it deserves the hype it’s gotten, but it’s not bad either. I was actually a little turned off by the texture of the hop particles in my mouth, but not enough to make me not want to finish the glass.

Opened the bottle and about 2/3 of it came pouring out. As for what I sampled it was unreal. Aroma was pure hop goodness but without the overwhelming over the top bitterness. Flavor was almost delicate with hop juice but not the typical hop brutality. This is a perrennial Top 50 imo.

Medium orange color. Large head. Aroma is very floral hops. This beer is most definitely worth straining all the hops otaa the bottle. Kudus to Portland drunk for sharing this small monster beer with me, and having the foresight to bring a strainer with him! A medium bodied IPA. Malts are nutty and sweet. Hops are spicy and floral. Very smooth. Well balanced. The hops are amazingly pronounced in this beer, but they are not bitter at all, mellow and very round. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pours hazy golden with a three fingered white head that lasts a long time. What's hard to get used to is the hop flowers in the beer. THis is a sipping beer, simply because you need to avoid the hops. The nose is, not surprisingly, hoppy. The flavor is citric hoppy with a clean finish. This is an excellent IPA.

Dark orange with lots of suspended sediment. Thin white head. Aroma is orange peel, bread crust and some fresh hops. Just as you would expect with a real bottle dry hopped beer. This is cool and over the top. The taste is a little less intense. Burnt toast, orange peel and a hint of earthy tobacco. This all comes together very nicely. Some spicy pepper in the finish. Nice slick and medium mouthfeel. An excellent IPA. By the way, the hop cones are nice and spicy when you eat them.

12 oz bottle. 1/2 of the bottle exploded all over the rug. Disgusting aroma. Infected? Bad, bad, bad. Aweful.

Read how to drink this before pouring. Use a Ruination or any other Stone pint glass to drink this. Exciting fresh hop aroma right off the bat. Medium head leaving the bottom 20% in the bottle. This stuff is great.

The contents of my bottle rushed up and out as soon as the cop was popped. Thus making my hands and shirt smell like amazing hop juice. When poured it was a deep amber color with green hop leaves and lots of other sediment in the glass with nice lacing. Amazing floral, and citrus hop aroma. Hops, hops and more hops, very hoppy, with little malt. Very bitter hop taste. A little more malt would have made this perfect, though as it is, it was still very nice. An hour later, even after washing my hands, I can still smell the hops. I used some form of the word ’hop’ 9 times in this review.

Strain this bad boy before you drink it. It pours with a cloudy orange body topped by a thin head with some lacing. The aroma is just full of hops, wow! It’s bitter, piney and slightly grapefruity with a slight appricot note. The flavor is slightly green tasting and very hoppy with bitter, piney notes and some hot peppery notes. Medium to full bodied and slightly dry.
