Pours clear amber with a thick, frothy ivory head. Strong aroma presents fruity, malty and resiny hop tones. Flavor delivers hoppy and citrus notes like an IPA, but minimal bitterness; malt and pear notes balance these and provide a little sweetness. A hint of wood peeps through as well. Body is viscous, and fizz is firm and lasting. Go on, lose your head!

330ml bottle from Willow Park, and a nice ceramic one at that. Clear chestnut pour under a creamy beige head. Spicy aroma, with some dark fruit. Above average mouth. Flavour just average, although it was boozy. Not a brilliant beer.

Clear light amber, big white foam head. Light citrus notes, some hop. Strong bittersweet taste initially, changing quick to more bitter, some fruity tones. Complex. (Arnhem 201504)

330 ml mock stoneware bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9%. The glass fills completely by a white foamy head, and the golden beer below appears only slowly. Strong and "typically Belgian" sweetish aroma with yeasty, spicy and fruity notes. The flavour is also spicy, medium sweet and "typically Belgian", with distinct hops in the finish. Warming mouthfeel. A few of La Guillotine, and you might lose your head completely ...

Solid gold brew with a nice sized creamy white cap with nice retention and excellent lacing (lots of crud in the bottom of the bottle poured out into the last 1/4 of my glass). The aroma is a split between the berries (strawberries) and peaches and the soft yeast with a slight mustiness and very faint pepper. When this is cold it's harsh, when it's warmed considerably it lacks joy, seems watered down. The taste is kinda wimpy but does have apples and some other light fruit, maybe honey, watery, some peppery spice and obvious alcohol, especially when colder. Almost too easy to drink at this point. Light medium bodied. Sort of smooth with a so-so chest burn. Finshes boring or harsh, depending on temperature. My empty glass smells like assholes...er...........

One hell of a noisy cap on this beer, its reducing to nothing more than a skiff very quickly and then to just a bubble ring around the edge of my glass. Body of the brew is golden brown with massive chunks floating around in it, and when I say massive I have corn flakes in this brew. I normally love beers with floaters in it but this is nuts my beer is almost a solid. Aroma is fairly standard for the style and is not wowing me, just the typical apple, wheat, yeast, and a touch of rubbing alcohol you can’t help but notice. Holy crap I almost launched my first sip across the room the chunks are so big you can feel them in your mouth, it took me by surprise and I thought there was vomit in the glass or something, I guess besides that the feel light and crisp. Taste is apple juice, light tasting sour malts the rubbing alcohol is noticeable but it has a spiciness to it witch I like. I’m getting down to my last couple of sips and there’s so much sediment in my glass it’s starting to resemble mud. Hahahaha my last sip was so chunky it felt like I was slurping soggy cereal. This is drinkable and non offensive but for the style its far below average and I see no reason to drink it again.

Poured into a Leffe chalice. Rocky offwhite foamy head..hazy apricot in colour, some thin persistent bubbling lifting off the bottom of the glass and disappearing in the haze.... Tropical fruit nose...pineapple mostly, but a hint of sherbety lemon. Some grassy notes. Candy-like, yet spicy...hint of anise (licorice allsort), maybe some nutmeg or coriander... quite a savoury profile. Some wild vegetal herbal hop in there also. And plenty of pineapple as it warms... Almost tart in mouthfeel....Quite dry in profile... alcohol heat is evident.

330 ml ceramic bottle with red foil cap. 'Best Before End' of Mar 2007 clipped on the back label. Has been aging for over a year. Has tried this one at a Beer Fest, and was quite strong (almost harsh). Let's see what some rest time has done. Color is yellowy/golden with a haze from the yeast. Not a large head, decent layer of white foam, thin lacing. Yeasty and acidic smell, also get aromas of fenel and anise. Taste has smoothed out nicely. Lots of carbonation keep it crisp and light. Yeasty flavor, with spice and pepper. A bit fruity, but not sweet, quite dry finish. Slightly alcohol aftertaste, but still well hidden. Complex, and still a bit strong in the flavor department, but has mellowed out nicely.

pours a gold yellow color with a decent sized white head that lasted only a lil while. smells of fruit (peach/berries), yeast. taste is a bit sweet with the fruit at the fore front of the flavor, while yeast is appearant while looking for it (so to speak), mouthfeel is smooth with lil to none bite or aftertaste. a good beer... for 9.3% this is really easy drinking. one of those beers you crave every few months...
