Clear with decent lacing white foam head. Aroma is good, nice pilsener. Tasted perfect with Chinese take away meal. Good beer for that purpose. (Velp 2013111)

First of all, I'm not convinced my bottle was full. Second of all, this is a weak assed Belgian Ale that pales in comparison to most Belgian ales. Golden in colour with a white cap, and slightly clouded. Grainy malt and pepper are the main aromas. Flavour is a bit bland, the spices don't do a whole lot. Give me the Donker any day!

Kasteel Blond. I was always curious for the Kasteel series but I never tried one. So tonight was the night and I tried the Blond version. Aroma his smalll hints of lemon and fresh baked bread. The flavour was really greasy. I don't think I ever drank a beer more greasy than this one. It was like drinking molten butter. This overcomes the flavours that is quite interesting. It taste a bit like a regular pilsner, not feeling the 11% at all. A bit of hop bitterness, but overall an easy to drink beer, but really treatorous. (spelled correctly??) I will not try this beer again soon, but I am still curious for the rest that Kasteel has to offer.

Not a bad beer, but certainly didn't live up to the hype that I had heard from a few folks. Bright, clear golden color, no head, little lacing some carbonation. Pronounced alcohol in the finish.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color ale with a big foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma consists of alcohol ester with some slightly cloying sweet malt. Taste is also dominated by some sweet malt with some distinctive notes of alcohol. Full body with great carbonation but alcohol is too apparent. Definitely lacking subtleties that I would usually expect from a Tripel and too cloying to be a regular beer for me.

Definitely has a fruity taste to it...tasting of apricot. As far as an 11% alcohol beer goes, one of the smoothest, most flavorful, and least "alcohol tasting" beers I've come across. When I think double digit alcohol content I immediately think malt liquor, however this beer is no Olde English by any means. You wouldn't be able to guess the [EtOH] by tasting it. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend trying this wonderful Belgian blonde

NorCal tasting June '07 - A really nice beer here. I doubt that I could drink many of these with it clocking in at 11% alcohol, but one would do me just fine. Aroma is light apricots and apples with a noticeable alcoholic bite to it. Appearance is hazy yellow with a fluffy white head. Mouthfeel is a bit sticky. Flavor is bubblegummy, yeasty, subtley fruity with a hot finish. Not bad. Reminds me of Piraat a bit.

(Bottle says Kasteelbier Tripel). Hazy yellow colour with mediumsized white fluffy head. Aroma is spices, hops and fruits. Flavour is yeast, alcohol, slight wheat and fruits. A bit harsh, but at the sametime the sweetness balances it up. A weird one...

Poured a golden color with nice head good lacing. Aroma was of bananas and yeast coriander and other spices. Flavor was much the same but alcohol jumped out very warm.

Nice initial head, good retention, over top of a golden body with some cloudiness. The aroma was of apples, bananas, yeast, and some spicy coriander notes. The flavor was apples, strong bananas, and some strong spicing (but not overdone). Alcohol wasn't hiding, a touch too strong, otherwise a standard tripel flavor profile (not bad, not good). Mouthfeel was well carbonated.
