With a slightly darker color than budweiser and an almost always "skunked" taste, I wouldn't recommend this beer to the experienced beer drinker. My uncle and I only drink it for the bottles easy to use in homebrewing for their grolsch-reminiscent bottle. Even for the price, I personally would choose something over this beer. It's taste is smooth with a vague hint of fruit and a somewhat bitter aftertaste.

Definitely has a fruity taste to it...tasting of apricot. As far as an 11% alcohol beer goes, one of the smoothest, most flavorful, and least "alcohol tasting" beers I've come across. When I think double digit alcohol content I immediately think malt liquor, however this beer is no Olde English by any means. You wouldn't be able to guess the [EtOH] by tasting it. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend trying this wonderful Belgian blonde

I worked at a bar in Switzerland that stocked this beer among some other delicious bottles. This was my favorite that I always went back too. As the "Dunkel" name describes, this beer is one of the darkest; even black you could say. Very smooth, though, as far as dark beers go with a rich malty flavor.
