Bottle courtesy of thewolf: Poured a light black color porter with a big light brown foamy head with good retention but no lacing. Aroma of green hops is surprising and doesn’t mix that well with the roasted malt notes. Taste is a weird mix between green bitter hops with some corn malt easily noticeable and some roasted bitter malt. The mix between all those different tastes didn’t really do it for me. Average body with good carbonation. Definitely not what I was expecting and not sure why this is rated so high.

Very dark brown. great biege head and lacing. Aroma of coffee, oats and dark dried fruits. Taste: very well-balanced and complex; very smooth, roasty and fruity. Smokey, salty, bittersweet and earthy finish

Black ruby body with a good, sizable big-bubbled khaki head. Pretty beer. The roasty aroma has a bit of a bite. Something in there is making me think of vinegar, but it’s not spoiled. In fact, it has a few months until its "Bast Fore" date. In the flavor, that roasty bite is joined by a bit of raisins. Some chocolate rounds it out.

Black/dark brown colour, brown small head. Sweet saccharine and sugar in aroma with hints of roasted malt. Roasted malt and sweet saccharine flavour along with hints of dry fruit. Aftertaste of roasted malt and caramel.

pours a very dark colour with a little persistant foam but no lacing; very roasty maltiness in the nose, some notes of chocolate, robust malt body - quite complex

Bottle, RBESG 2005, Grand Tasting. Very dark (black) colour, decent head. LOVELY aroma: roast malts, sherry, plums. Flavour is VERY roasty, notes of espresso coffee, but not much beyond that. A bit too fizzy.

Poured a very dark brown / mahogany / reddish color with a tight, medium sized, tan, creamy head and nice lacing on the glass. Bitter roast, chocolate, and smoke aroma. Very creamy (think milkshake) mouthfeel. Chocolate, dark fruits, roasted oats, anise, coffee, and cream. Phenomenal taste, a wonderful porter!
