Honey Amber Rose was conceived when an out of work electrical worker arrived with a light bulb idea for a female inventor consultant. Working with an obscure recipe from the 1930's, utilizing rarely seen rose hip shells, the two brewed this hip new beer. Honey Amber Rose has 108 calories under 7 grams of carb: 4% alcohol. It is made with rose hip shells which are the Fruit of the Rose long known as wonder antioxidants and 20 times the Vitamin C of regular fruit. The rosehip adds a fruit taste but mild and a touch of honey balances the beer. The product has a European taste and is unlike any other beer. http://www.honeyamberose.com/ourstory.html http://www.honeyamberose.com/pressrelease.html

OK...I admit it too! I tried one after receiving it from a co-worker of my fiance. I had it it my mind (mainly b/c it was given to me by a female), and from the label, that it would be a "girly" beer. Think I was right. It's basically a watery honey beer that tastes like rose water as well. Sort of like that sweet stuff that you dip those puffy doughballs in that you get for desert after eating Indian food. Interesting to try, but I wouldn't spend money on this.

Admittedly the packaging was the draw. Wife and I saw it at Whole Foods and said let’s give it a try. A cloudy orange amber colored ale. A disappointingly small tight soapy white head. Disappears quickly with no lacing left behind. Aroma is light sweet malt. Body is thin and watery. Tastes like rose water. Okay, I saw, I tried, I won’t do it again.
