500 ml capped bottle, version 2018 as a 6.3 ABV. Poured in a Bavarian Vase a crystal-clear and golden yellow coloured OFB with a two fingers slightly beige, fine, dense and soapy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles and some bigger one. Soft carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is grainy malts, caramel notes, herbal hops and a barnyard touch, even a skunky feel. The flavour is sweety grainy malts, caramel, breadcrust, corn and faint herbal hops. The mouthfeel is round and a bit sticky. The texture is oily. This medium to full bodied OFB has a dry sweety malts finish and a light warming effect. This Munich Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier is not complex and rather sweety. It's an ideal companion for a long evening under a great tent with a humming German music.

Pours a nice clear coppery Amber with a decent pale buff head. Aroma has fruity and malty notes, not strong but inviting. Crisp, fruity flavor has a malty underpinning and just a snip of hops, average but pleasing. Texture has OK thickness and fizz. Fair to middlin’ but heck, it’s Oktoberfest! (Not officially, just at Summits Wayside Taverns.)

From BCLDB Nordel Crossing. Clear pour of medium gold under a brief head of foamy white. Main characteristic of the aroma was malt and floral. Better news on the flavour front, with hops and malt. Above average mouth. Refreshing but not outstanding.

Pale and clear gold brew with a dense white head that gives way quickly but leaves some lacing; I had wanted more color. I hate green bottles, but the person who purchased this was smart enough to buy it in a closed box, so I'm glad it's not skunked. Bitter (rather than tart) yeast aroma at first, then floral and caramel sweetness. Flavor is sweet too, with that bitter yeastiness emerging for a more balanced finish. I'm inclined to say earthy, but it's very understated. A little tinny. This is not a boldly flavored brew. Quite thin and wet, lightly carbonated. Better than swill, but not something I'm going to seek out.

Pours a bright and clear pale golden orange with lots of rising bubbles which produces large white head with good retention and leaves a lot of creamy lacing around the glass. The aroma is pretty grainy, bready with moderately toasted malts with hints of caramel, toffee, biscuit, cereal grains, hay, grass, and crackers. Decent amount of noble hops add a little spice. The taste has that bready, caramel driven taste typical of Marzens. Toasted malts with notes of caramel, toffee, biscuit, and crackers. Notes of grass, hay, and husk. Decent earthy hop presence with some spicy noble hops. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium boided with moderate carbonation.

It pours a light golden with a thick and foamy white head and spotty lacing. An aroma of grainy malts, light hops, lemon and citrus, and very light spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth and rather rich. Flavors of grainy malts, sweetness, hops, lemon and citrus, and spiciness. Good and easy drinking.

I can't get excited about HB Oktoberfest. Grassy on the open, bright yellow pour-no carbonation, thin wispy head that disappears. Little to convince me that this a Marzen -fest bier. I think I would like this if it had some carbonation to it, maybe this is a old batch? A couple more in the sixer will update. Next day tried a couple more of HB fest beer- I don't see the fest beer style, maybe a good straight pils or standard lager.

Another bad Oktoberfest, we are rife with them this year. Possibly the worst colour I have seen in an Oktoberfest in years. No reddish hints whatsoever....lager yellow. The aroma is very grainy, so much so that it makes the Sam Adams Oktoberfest seem good. The flavour is watered down and grainy, completely void of any sweet hints.

Tasty beer, but a little sickly, I would say. Does not carry the extra alcohol as well as some. Don't get me wrong. It's very fruity and refreshing, but it doesn't knock my socks off like the Lowenbrau one did.

Pours a clear medium golden yellow with a small white head and some lacing. Grassy aroma with very slight green bottle skunking, lemongrass, sweet wet malts. Taste is a bit thin and a bit more like a pils than a marzen: slightly grassy and lemony, wet sweet malts. Decent but I expected better. Will try on draft sometime @ Hofbrauhaus in Cincy and hopefully have a better experience.
