This beer pours orange with a fizzy white head that dissapears quickly. The aroma is very malty and sweet, and piney. The mouthfeel is thin and highly carbonated. The flavor is great for the style. There is a nice citrous flavour from the hops, and a solid malt base which blend together nicely. The piney/grassy taste smakes this beer interesting to drink. Nice solid offering.

Pours a hazy dark golden orange color with apricot edges and a small white head that quickly settles into a thin, lasting ring. Spotty lacing left behind. The aroma is slightly earthy floral hop aroma with hints of pine needle and fresh cut grass countered by caramel malt sweetness, toffee, and biscuit. The taste is kind of bland without much else going on. One dimensional hop profile and the malt presence is stronger than I prefer. The mouthfeel is light bodied with delicate hop bitterness that lingers over the sweet malt backbone into a slightly dry finish. Light and easy to drink but not very complex or interesting. Dry, grassy bitterness countered by caramel malt, biscuit, toffee and a touch of dark fruit. Hop profile is one dimensional but has decent flavor. Malt presence is stronger than I prefer but provides some needed balance.

Aromas of citrus hops upfront with some sweet malts poking through. Copper body with nice carbonation, head is small but leaves some awesome laceing. Flavor is mostly sticky sweet caramel malts with the bitterness of hops coming through at the end. Overall it's malt heavy and thick an ok brew.

Nice coppery pour somewhat thin on any head, carbonation seemed to be sparce. Tasty enough, IPA style not my go to style, but this beer is OK. Somewhat bitter finish but no aftertaste. Reminds me of a Marzen with the color and the Munich malt. Let's see what the sixer reveals!

It pours copper with a thin and spotty white head and copious lacing. An aroma of caramel malts, faint hops, orange and citrus notes, light bitterness, brown sugar and other spices. The mouthfeel is smooth, chewy, and rich. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, orange and citrus, bitterness and tea leaves, honey, milk, and spiciness. This is very good!! .. I love the mouthfeel .. sort of wraps the tongue.

Labeled as a brown ale. Labeled here as an APA. I'd say a cross or somewhere in between. Appearance is semi-cloudy light brown. Balance is more on the hoppy side, but good caramel malt content. I am liking all of the Hebrews. Sampled a single first, but would get a 6 of this.

I am turning over a new leaf when I try beer that I think has way too much hop bitterness to it. I am going to give it time to settle after it's poured. I did that with Genesis Ale and I am glad I did, otherwise I would have written it off completely. My first HeBrew try, I thought Genesis was clean and sweet after letting the hop bitterness settle. The amber hue held up the very thin disappointing head from the bottle pour. Flowery earth aromas wafted from the glass. On the tongue, full bodied caramel and hop notes, with hints of grapfruit (from those darn Willamettes)and malt were present. Chutzpah indeed, as HeBrew Genesis is pretty good, but I still think the IBUs are pretty far reaching. Mazeltov!

A very decent brown that is rather high on flavor and mouthfeel. Nice maltiness that is well-balanced with a clean finish. Color is light to medium brown and cloudy with a thin light tan head. Superb lacing. A pleasure.

MMMMMM...that's good chutzpah! He'brew was one of the first beers that started luring me into the craft beer industry. I have yet to be disappointed by any of their work (although few things can top that Lenny's RIPA!). Thick, chewy malt profile, some toasty nuts and caramel. Solid hop underpinnings, but just enough for balance. The hops are far from overwhelming, which is desirable for a beer that I plan on drinking all night. Light, tan head with a spattering of lacing on the glass. caramel brown color, with some orange highlights. Mildly bitter aftertaste. 9/16/12 add-in: I was going to post a review, but it looks like I beat myself to it. Those notes are still spot-on.

A pretty good beer overall. Pours a light brown/amber with a thin head. Aroma was more malty than hoppy but did have hints of pine and citrus. Taste is well balanced--some malty sweetness but good offsetting hop bitterness.
