I suppose this would be a rauchbock in the truest sense of the word. A dark reddish brown pour with a definite smoky aroma. The flavour was a let down, a little too much smoke for my liking. Not at the Aecht Schlenkerla level though.

This was a good one but not very smoked. A dark golden appearance. The aroma was smoked malt, caramel, and lemon. Some smoke appears in the flavor along with some citrus, vanilla, whipped cream, and ginger. I must be crazy but thats what I got. It was a good beer regardless of what Fan Baby says :)

Pours a cloudy/murky orange-brown color with a decent head and only ok lacing. The aroma was of sweet coffee, peat, and peat. The flavor was really strong smoke, almost came across as a rauch. Citrus / lemon sour base underneath, something about these HW beers that have a sour malt underneath it all. Hops are non-existent (as they should be within style, perhaps the only accurate part of the style captured here). Mouthfeel is acidic and lacking creaminess. Downright nasty for a bock. More like a weak attempt at a Scottish Ale or Rauch.

Thanks to eaglefan538 sharing with me to celebrate my birthday! Beer poured apple cider brown with decent head and a little lacing. Aroma was really smokey and sweet. Flavor was overwhelmingly smokey (for me, anyway) with a lemony sour undertone. It was interesting, but I can't say it was pleasant.

One of the best smoked beers. Wow. Where did this come from. Out of no where. Where's the bottle I just tossed. WHat is this? Oh my gosh. I love smoked beers and this is it. I would rank this up with Alaska snd Rauchbier of Germany. Gosh its that good. This is not bock. This is smoked.

This poured a dark golden color with a thick creamy head and lots of bubble action. The taste was nice enough for a bock beer and rather enjoyable. Give it a try!

Poured a golden color with a nice white head and lacing. Spicy aroma with a dry citrus taste.

I enjoyed this beer with smoked talapia at a recent beer dinner hosted by Michael Jackson. The beer complimented the food very well. The smoke flavors of the beer were not too overwhelming, as some can be.

If you like the rauchbier style, check this one out. NJ/NY/PA only though.
