Our Smoked Porter is a robust London style porter with a deep chocolate/ruby color and the subtle accent of hardwood smoked malt. This distinctive beer is brewed using no less than seven different varieties of premium European malted barley, resulting in a complex and full bodied beer characterized by hints of chocolate, coffee, caramel and beechwood smoke. The big malty finish to this beer is balanced by a solid hop bitterness and the refined English aroma and flavor of premium Goldings finishing hops.

Smoked ale? I taste oak, licorice, roasted malt, dark fruit and bitter dark chocolate. Very good beer has a full body that goes down smooth. Aroma of roasted malt and a bit metallic. Quite a presentable appearance but not a lot of lacing.

The beer pours a dark coca-cola colour with a thin brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate. and molasses. No smokiness that I can discern. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is roasted malt, burnt wood, dark chocolate, and licorice. Quite good. -

Pours out in a dark brown colour with ruby edges. Small bubbly off-white head. Rather astringent aroma of roasted malts, salty licorice, black olives and dough. Medium-bodied with notes of salty licorice, burnt malts, black chocolate, mild coffee and black pepper. Long roasted finish burnt malts, salt, cracker, nut-shells and black chocolate.

From bottle. Pour was dark brown, stout-like, good head (somewhat hard to pour within the style). The aroma was strong chocolate, light roast (not evidently beechwood, though?). Flavor followed the aroma in that chocolate and cocoa were the feature, some light roast, but full molasses and licorice were also present underneath it all. Mouthfeel was silky smooth, a tad grainy, but overall pretty nice. Porters have been rather un-enticing this summer season, but I finally got around to this one and enjoyed it relatively speaking.

this was a good porter, poured nicely and had good color. I did not realize this was a smoked porter until i read the reviews. I think this is worth trying once.

From a bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is malty with a smokey undertone. Flavor is slightly sweet up front with an excellent bitterness at the back. Some chocolate undertones. On a personal note, this was bottled by a friend of mine at the brewery so made it even better.

Pours black with a dense two finger head that fades slowly to a thick brown cap. The lacing is completely covers he interior of my glass as the foam settles. I've seen stouts that don't pour as dark as this did. Smell; lots of dark fruits with figs, prunes and dates. Chocolate and coffee are there, as I expected, but there's also some hints of hops in the aroma. Very nice. Taste; wow, those dark fruits come through even more strongly in the flavor with prunes, figs, dates and just some touches of vanilla bean. The malts come through with chocolate, coffee and a little caramel, and are offset with a nice bit of hops in the finish. I'm having a hard time putting the glass down, so I can take my time with this one. Muthfeel/Drinkability; mouthfeel is medium to full, with a very pleasing carbonation that seems to fit this beer perfectly. As i said already, I'm having hard time keeping this from disappearing so you know the drinkabilty is really good.

This beer poured a very dark brown to black color topped off by a smaller beige colored head that left pretty good lace down the sides of the glass. The aroma was smokey and sweet with some heavy roasted coffee aromas as well. Mouthfeel was full bodied, rich and thick. The flavor was very smokey with some hops, mocha and toffee flavors coming through as well, though only 7.2 percent there was still some alcohol present in the finish.

Deep dark brown with some amber tint, nice pillowy light brown head leaving minimal lacing. Looks great. Aroma is roasty and sweet with a powerful chocolate scent backed by some bitter coffeeness. A very full bodied beer, mouthfeel is thick, smooth, and creamy. Flavor is off the charts with a heavy chocolate and roasted malt prominance. There is a little bit of roasted smokiness as well but not as forward as I was expecting. Incredible beer here will look for it again.
