This is a Smoked Imperial Porter, maybe the first ever made in this style. It is brewed with British Pale, Brith Chocolate, British Crystal and British Peat-smoked malts. It should be chocolately with hints of smoke and alcohol throughout.

12.10.05 Growler from egajdzis’s personal keg, RLB YEHA - 05. Dark brown with small but lasting tan head. Aroma is a mild showcase of peat and smoke but with an unusual squash thing going on (as if someone had gutted a pumpkin right beside me while I was sniffing the beer). The squash aroma is not at all bad, just completely unexpected. Flavor is mildly roasty and plenty smoky. One of the more rustic peat smoked beers I’ve tried, this is a bit rough around the edges, but a delight overall and something I’d certainly seek out if it was ever bottled. Excellent balance, great beer. It’s a richer, less bitter, more English take on the same beer O’Fallon has made...or, at least, it’s in the same class.

Poured a dark brown with a nice head, lacing didn't last long. Smeeled of vanilla slightly smoaky. Tasted of chocolate and roasted malts and smokey, hint of vanilla. Creamy.

A very nice dark brown to black appearance with mahogany edges and a nice head. Lacing was only momentary and followed the surface as it was consumed. The aroma was smoky and I couldn’t pick much else up (hey, this is called the fire bringer, after all). The flavor was certainly smoky, somewhat like a rauchbier, but there were also roasted malts, light coffee, and alcohol present (it almost wanted to be vinous, rather than a coffee/chocolate overdosed stout/porter). The mouthfeel was heavy, but the consistency wasn’t like motor oil, just heavy on flavor and fullness. I enjoyed this one, as it didn’t overpower with the smoked-ness.

Poured an opaque black color with a small, light tan head, and left very light lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet chocolate, vanilla beans, dried fruits, and faint smoked meats. Taste of chocolate and roasted malts, burnt wood / smoked meat taste all over, and light vanilla as well. No alcohol was detected, and it provided a very creamy / full mouthfeel.
