Smoked Imperial Rye Porter aged in Rye Whiskey Barrels. A rich porter layered with rye spiciness and earthy smoke, caramel-like flavors, roasty malt and oaky deliciousness. Brewed with beachwood and cherrywood smoked malt, and aged in rye whiskey barrels, Smoking Wood is a delicious demonstration of what wood has to offer when it comes to beer. This imperial smoked porter is brewed with a hefty amount of rye malt, contributing to a full body and light spiciness. Toasty oak, caramel and vanilla flavors balance the smokiness, contributing to an intense yet refined flavor profile. This is one of our favorite beers at the moment, we hope you agree

Pours a rich sable with a thick, though effervescent, dark tan head. Aroma has a strong woody whisky overtone, plus notes of roast malt and molasses and a hint of horehound. Smoky wood dominates the flavor, backed up by malty, rye, molasses and miso tones. Viscous, oily texture has a strong fizz and leaves a smoky, woody, earthy finish. I’m confident that you "wood" love this one!

This is a beautiful beer and the first of a giant box from slowrunner, thanks! Smell is a mix of what I think is peated malt and smoked malt with a strong rye whiskey and buttery oak presence. The body is just strong enough to carry it all and the flavor is a nice easy going porter, almost mild, with chocolates, vanilla, smoke and wood. Great complimenting flavors on an extremely well made beer.

It's really hard to say definitively if this is just shy of the awesomeness of the bourbon smoking wood. I had the tap version of that at a 4.7 and the slightly meatier bottle version a 4.4 or so. This isn't quite as smooth as the bb version on tap, not as meaty as the bb bottled. Yet another great beer from the Bruery either way. Slight smoke, chocolate, roast, whiskey...very nice. 4.4+
