Vacationland Summer Ale VSA is an Extra Special golden ale that’s light in color but full-bodied, with a snappy hop finish. A bit of extra time in the conditioning tank rounds out and mellows the ale. Vacationland Summer Ale will be available this summer in a fun, new six-pack that will put you in mind of everything that’s great about our state in the summertime. Also look for VLSA at our Portland and Freeport Brew Pubs, as well as featured draft accounts throughout Maine.

Pours a small frothy beige head and dissipates to a thin coating. Has a pale golden light amber appearance. Not too bad lacing. Aromas of toasty and bready malts as well as some subtle citrus hop notes. Flavours are mainly herbal and citrus hops. Some hints of caramel, bready malts and resin hops. Medium retention and medium bodied mouthfeel. Pretty good but nothing out of the ordinary.

Purchased on my trip to Maine. Pours a clean golden-amber colour with big bubble carbonation. Frothy white head with good lacing. Big grain nose with honey hints. The grain is there in the taste, but with some decent hops balancing things. A nice cereal malt summer ale.

Bottle: Poured a golden color beer with a light foamy head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma of medium sweet malt is somewhat boring. Taste is also somewhat bland with some light notes of medium sweet malt with no material notes of hops. This one is quaffable and refreshing but still too bland to be one of my summer beer.

Sampled in Maine last summer. A nice brew that is worth a try. Has a nice golden hue and pours very nicely. Goes down smooth and has a nice flavor. A little bland but to be expected from a summer brew.

I thought this to be an interesting and quite refreshing "Summer Bitter" (if such a style could exist).
Not nearly as buttery as most beers from up this way seem to be (from Gritty's, and others). A welcome change of pace, that lets the crisp hoppiness shine through. Spicy: Saaz? Regardless, this beer's flavor profile was nice and dry, and crisp, and nicely drinkable for when things warm up in Maine.
After this year's brutal Winter, I can see why the locals are dying to shed the excess clothes and chill out in the nice weather Southern Maine is currently enjoying. And I can think of few better beers than this to enjoy when the sun is shining down on you. An enjoyable Pale Ale/Kolsch, IMO.

The appearance is quite attractive a nice lazy pale orange with a tiny head that last no time at all Nice aroma of hops mainlly smells fresh despite its long journey. MMM I liked the taste of this beer..a nice pale ale indeed..nice semi-sweet roasted malts followed by an excellent hoppy bitterness that lasts a few seconds very well done. very nice on the palate..i want to sip this pretty quick A good drinkable American style Pale Ale..good for anytime in my opinion
