Original Pub Style is a light copper-colored medium-bodied with a nice dry bite at the finish. A subtle combination of Cascade and Willamette hops give this ale a fine floral aroma and a slightly fruity aftertaste. The taste captures the freshness of a hand-crafted brew pub ale that goes right from the conditioning tank to your glass!

Acquired via trade with Chopz. Pours a big foamy off white head and has a pale golden appearance. Decent sticky lacing. Aromas of sweet malts, hints of caramel and earthy hops. Flavours are mainly bitter hops, caramel malts, yeast and a buttery/toffee like finish. Would've preferred a bit more hopiness as it seems much too malty for my liking. Slick and oily sensation and a fairly average medium bodied mouthfeel.

Part of their mixed pack on my trip to Maine. Pours a very slight hazy golden colour with a frothy warm cap and decent foamy-creamy lace. Diacetyl aromas with butter and butterscotch. Milder caramel malt taste with hints of grains in the finish and light hops. Some sweetness, some bitterness, but nothing really good as a little too rich for a good pale ale.

2nd sample from Gritty's. Finishing off my summer beers sample, so trying a bunch of new pale ales the past two weeks. Even though it says APA here, this is an english-style pale ale....sort of like Shipyard's Chamberlain Pale Ale. Light caramel malt, some bitter hop, little bit of wheat and yeast. Not one of the best out there, but better than average.

Sweet malt in the nose, moderate amber color, OK head, watery mouth, way too buttery, not much abv i am guessing, finish with a touch of hops bittering, completely mediocre beer.

I've heard that this is basically little more than a repackaged version of an old Gritty's stand-by, their "Portland Head Light Pale Ale". And while I don't have much in the way of a positive nor negative rememberance of the Portland Head Light Pale Ale, I do know that this particular "pub style ale" is nothing too excitting, but fine for what it sets out to do.
Fairly standard Gritty's profile here -- not as buttery as, say, Shipyard brews, but definately more-than-a-little diacetyl going on here. Shame, too, since it distracts from what I can gather to be a fairly interesting malt profile. Again, nothing award winning, but the makings of something interesting, me'thinks.
I was kinda rooting for this beer, to be honest. But when it's all said and done, this was fair from anything but pretty average, across the board....

Deep Orange gold color topped with a medium thick head. the aroma is sweet and filled with caramel maltiness. this carries through to the flavor which has a hint of nutty hop flavor. the finish is a touch dry and hoppy.
