Our Red is a smooth,malt-centred ale with a hint of caramel. Dangerously drinkable. What’s in the name? The Wright House was a Georgetown landmark from 1913-2003. Warm meals and many a refreshing beer welcomed train travellers and locals alike. It was a well-known fact that you did not mess with Mr. Wright. Local legend has it he once removed 6 unruly patrons single-handedly! With our Red Ale, we strive to pay the same respect to the Wright House as it earned from the community back in the day.

Tall can from the Beer Store. Pours a massive frothing off-white head that sticks around for a while and has some soapy lacing remaining. Has an amber coppery appearance. Aromas of herbal and floral notes, some mild wheaty and malty hints as well. Flavours are mostly toasty and caramel malt, some mild herbal and grassy hop notes. A little bit of a dry finish on the palate. Also a drying mouthfeel overall.

The beer pours a highly effervescent translucent copper colour with bubbly tan coloured that only lasts a couple of minutes. The aroma is biscuit malt, caramel, earthy hops, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, slightly creamy, and well carbonated. The flavour is on the sweet side with lots of caramel and brown sugar notes. The finish is bitter, but not overly so. -

Slightly hazy amber colour with a bubbly-foamy light-beige head, average retention and good thick foam lacing. Caramel malt base aromas with apples fruitiness and fairly hoppy grass. Toasty malt taste with some caramel. Enough hops to cut the extra sweetness and give this a nice, mild bitter finish. Still, a little too rich for my likings, but has some decent punch for a red ale.
