Fish Tale Organic India Pale Ale A Cascadian treasure, Fish Tale Organic India Pale Ale is a medium-bodied beer with a rich golden color. The organic pale and crystal malts contribute to a firm malt body that provides the backbone for an aggressive hop profile. Our India Pale Ale features a unique organic hop grown in New Zealand, called Pacific Gem. The moment our Mighty Fish Brewers sampled this pungent and resinous new hop, they knew it would be perfect for their Organic I.P.A. All of these choice ingredients were grown without the use of the harmful fertilizers and pesticides that damage our precious streams and ground water. Gold medal winner in the Organic class of the International Ale Competition of the 2004 Brewing Industry International Awards, held each year in London, England.

An easy drinking IPA that drinks far easier than it's ABV would indicate. A nice golden beer with a white head. Malt profile seems both bready and sweet. A decent dose of hops appears in the flavour helping create a bitter finish.

A new edition brought over by my brother for Thanksgiving. Pours a bright copper color with a thick, foamy white head and copious carbonation. Faint aroma of pine and cut grass. Tastes of pine and some light citrus undertones. Organic beers tend to be really bland, but this one has a nice moderate hoppiness. One could drink a couple of these in a row without too much of a problem, which makes it quite desirable. I would like to find more from this brewery.

This one pours ith an oranhge amber color. The head is moderate. Tight bubbled froth with an orange tinge. Citrus hops dominate in the aroma. Well carbonated. Light body. Smooth. There is a hint of malt behind the citrus hops in the taste. This is a decent representation of the Indian Pale Ales.

another aerage IPA from Fish. Not bad at all, but very average. The "new hop" Pacific Gem is fairly indistinguishable, and the malt is too much of the flavor. An underhopped IPA. That said, it was enjoable enough, but not one I'd get again.

Bottle courtesy of Piscator34: Poured an hazy deep amber color ale with a nice foamy head with some good retention but minimal lacing. Aroma of medium bitter hops with some subtle citrus notes. Taste is also dominated by some medium bitter hoppy notes with some subtle malt presence. Above average body with some medium carbonation. I thought this was OK overall but probably one the most disappointing beers in this organic series.

What a nice beer. Pours a vibrant orange colour with medium sized white head. I really love the clean, refreshing taste of an organic beer. It tastes very crisp, and many flavors and aromas run through this into your mouth. A generous amount of citrusy hops with plenty of grapefruit, and pear aromas.

Nice light golden color, some haze, nice initial head with great lacing, although head retention was short lived, thinned to only a covering rapidly. The aroma was some sort of candy sweetness initially with lemons and grapefruits prominent, a touch of pine. The flavor picked up in much the same fashion, although the candy sweetness was not really there. Strong lemon-grapefruit combo going on, crisp pine in the bitter hop finish. Not enough in the malt backbone to make this one excellent (certainly lacking depth), and the mouthfeel was subsequently thin.

Excellent beer. Slightly cloudy and an impressive orangy/amber. Decent white head and some spotty lacing. Savory smells of fresh, fruity, lemony(it's there) hops and a nice sweet spice that lingers at the end. Good deep flavour that includes tangy bitter hops - I first thought the flavour to be cherry, but that changed to an almost overwhelming deeply bitterness and a touch of apple (?). Heavy fruity hoppy aftertaste with a flavourless sour finish that is more apperant near the bottom of the glass.

Certified Organic India Pale Ale, with the "spawned on" date on the label edge. Brightly colored label, the background is a number of goldfish swimming through hop cones. Got to taste a few samples from Fish Brewing at the last Beerfest, but now have a full 6 pack. Color is a mix of orange and dark gold, with a slight haze. Big white bubbles make a large head then shrinks. Leaves a thin line of lacing. The first smell is typical IPA, grapefruit and citrus with some pine needles thrown in. Lots of hop flavour throughout, and finishes with a nice bitter hoppy end. Has an earthy smell and taste, acentuating the hops. Creamy, with a cleansing bite on the palate. I thought this is a very good example of an IPA, can't wait to try some of their other styles.

Pours a deep honey brown that’s slightly cloudy, nice tan colored head floating on top. The sweet smell of caramel hits the nose and then the massive smell of the hops punches you in the face, there’s also a detergent smell in the background it kind of messages you. The beer felt smooth and thick in the mouth with moderate carbonation. WOW!!! Tons of hops it’s the first thing you notice; this is a very hoppy beer. Gets sweeter and creamier at the back of my throat. The beer quit refreshing but I don’t think I could drink more then a couple in a evening due to the intense hops.
