Back in 1871, the first generation of the Moortgat family was already producing beer with their exacting craftsmanship, unfailing patience and above all, lots of love. Duvel is a 100% pure and natural beer, with no additives or preservatives. And you can taste the difference immediately. Its surprisingly high alcohol content (8.5%), huge, creamy head, delicate effervescence and silky smooth mouth feel is what distinguishes Duvel from other Belgian beers. With its subtly bitter bite and delicate aroma, Duvel holds a unique position within the rich Belgian beer tradition. After bottling, the beer continues to ferment for a fortnight in the warm cellars of the brewery. Finally, the beer is chilled for 6 weeks in the cold cellars. This extra long maturing process is unique and contributes to the exquisite flavour and pure aroma of Duvel.

The beer was poured into a tulip and was a beautiful golden colour with a huge loose rocky white head that lasted longer than the beer. The aroma was hints of malt and some spice. The mouthfeel was light but with heavy heavy carbonation. The taste was slightly citrusy with a bitter aftertaste.

Be careful when poring this one it’s makes a massive foamy white head. The aroma is of sweet yeast and of malt. The mouthfeel is creamy and the taste is clean.A very good Belgium beer.

A nice shimmery golden pour, with a huge rocky snow white head which takes forever to recede. There is a lot of yeast, and funk in the aroma to go along with the grains and floral hops. Thin and champagny mouthfeel. Flavor is malty with notes of honey, and finishes with a funky yeasty taste.

Taps clear topaz with a fairly thick eggshell head. Aroma presents pomme and fresh malt notes. Flavor delivers strong malty, pomme and yeast tones plus not-so-subtle resiny hops. Mouthfeel features fair body, peppy fizz, and a fruity and hoppy finish. Duvel ya wanna have some?

Bottle. Colour – medium gold, very hazy, very generous white foamy head that lasts (and lasts and lasts….). Aroma – yeast, light fruits, citrus, spices, grains. Mouthfeel – light bodied, highly carbonated. Flavour – citrus, grains, and yeast. Well balanced between the sweet and the bitter aspects of beer.

This is a really nice beer. If you are a fan of the Belgium styles you MUST try this! Has nice floral and fruit notes at the nose and has a lovely color and head when poured. I can hammer a good amount of these back in a session and the ABV is nothing to shake a stick at either. It'll do the job :) More? Yes, please!

One of my favorites, although not too special in taste. Just love the foam head. Somwhat darker clear yellow with some CO2. Great bitter taste, lasting long.

Duvel has it all. When served in the original Duvel glass with the enormous foam head on top of it completes it. When tasted you'll experience a hoppy bitterness with a powerful aftertaste with it.

Clear straw yellow/gold color with a very thick, soapy, white head with both large and small bubbles. Head retetnion was excellent with lots of lacing. Tons of bubbles rising to the top. Very clean smelling. Some lemony citrus hops with some bready malts. Smells nice and fruity all around. Very fresh. No real alcohol notes stand out. Balanced nicely. At the end, some spice or peppery notes made an appearnace. A slight lemony flavor with a touch of alcohol. Even detecting a "green" apple flavor. Very well balanced and prominent. The alcohol is rather favoriable and light. Medium mouthfeel. Dry, crisp and smooth with some light alcohol warmth and bite. Covers the palate admirably and evenly. Well... this beer is really good, however I didn't flip for it like some seem to. I am more than happy to drink it and it is very well balanced. Personally, I don't want to drink it continuously. I could have a few. With the high ABV, one might have to watch themselves with this. It does come in a cool little bottle though.

Easy to drink. Citrus, bready, a little sour. Noticed some plum and lavender in the nose this time- ( maybe I have been longing for some good beer from Begique.) bright golden pour. Price not bad there will be more of this in stock! Creamy- fluffy head and mouthfeel to go along. Just makes me get motivated for a inventory stock up of Orval-- Nice!
