I was captured by the SAISON genre last fall when I tried the NBBC SAISON. I have been unable this season to find this brew so a firend and I split this one. Do the right thing and get yourself the correct glass to drink this one from. It was the answer to the question for me as to where the saison of the year had gone. This was it. A certainty for the fall season.

Crisp aroma is rich and fruity, more like a cider than a beer. It pours out a cloudy golden with a thick, off-white head. Flavor is fruity and crisp with hints of malt and just a trace of hops. Texture is lively, jazzy and jagged - it fairly dances on the tongue and on its way down the pipes.

A clouded honey colored ale with a monstrous billowy cap. lively with natural carbonation, lots of little yeast "floaters" in this drink. Wonderful aroma of malts, spice, mustiness and some sweet fruits. Chewy-musty malts mingle with pear-apricot some berry tastes, attenuated hop citrus and spices...finish is strange: long but dry with lots of berry tastes...the perfect saison for summer sipping or thirst slaking...mind you, the 250cl bottles are a tease and you need 3 to make a decadent, relaxing, sunset patio experience on a warm summer evening, go for the 750 ml bottle if you can.

More from Dupont. Cloudy golden pour. Nice rocky ,fine grained head. A little funk, bitter, grassy. Maybe a touch of lemon, spice and pepper. Hard to decide on a favorite Saison- I'll think I will just enjoy the lot!

I picked this beer up at the Vintage Cellar on 16 March 2011. This beer has a nice horseblanket aroma. It is funky and kind of sour. At the same time, the beer has a light and fluffy mouthfeel but retaining a noticeable body. The beer has a nice head and a great retention. I love this style of beer and would happily have THIS beer again - any day of the week and on Sunday!

This one was hard for me to rate on the aroma and flavor columns because upon pouring and the first few drinks there was a pungent skunky smell and taste, however with some 'airing out' it settled and some aromas and flavors appeared. Aromas (later) of sour green apples, slight hints of banana and spices. Flavors were similar to the aroma with a fruity start going into a dry finish. Mouthfeel was substansial but light, and the sourness made it dry. Saisons are not my favorite style and i dont have much experience with them but this bottle was an enigma, but i wouldnt mind giving it another try someday.

Cloudy light gold color with a very thick golden-white head. Aroma is woody with hints of lemon, clove, and cinnamon. Bitter but smooth and very carbonated. Has a grassy taste with hints of bubblegum.

Out of a green bottle, pours a hazy golden color with a thick foamy head that recedes quickly. Aroma of yeast, sour, fruity and some spices. Taste is a balance of tart fruitiness and yeast with some spices and a subtle sweetness. Mouthfeel is dry and refreshing with good carbonation.

This beer poured with a very hazy golden body filled with sedimedt and topped with a medium sized rocky white head that left a nice amount of lace down the sides of the glass. The aroma is rich with lots wheat, funky barnyard, and banana. Mouthfeel was medium bodied, very sharply carbonated and slightly dry in the finish. The flavor starts off with a huge yeasty flavor accented by lots of banana and green apple and finishes clean with a vauge hoppy flavor and some good wheat flavors.

Bomber 750 ml (25.4 oz), green bottle, corked. Split with Scott at his University Park home. Unfiltered, bottle conditioned Belgian Farmhouse Ale, 6.5% abv. Brewed in winter for summer drinking. Wheat or straw colored. Highly carbonated with a dense white head. Strong yeast aroma from the bottle and a big, fruity bouquet in the glass. Flavor can best be described as tangy. Light, refreshing body. Taste starts fruity but ends dry and clean. Outstanding. Sturdy yet refreshing--none better.
