Brewmasters Notes Fermented with wild yeasts and aged in wine barrels with orange peel, Sofie is a tart, dry, sparkling ale. A subtle, spicy white pepper note, a hint of citrus from the orange peel and a creamy vanilla finish make Sofie an intriguing choice for Champagne drinkers and beer drinkers who are fond of Belgian Saisons.

Pours a slightly pale golden color with small white head that hangs around for short while. The aroma is hoppy & fruity. The taste is similar to aroma with hint of citrus, nicely balanced. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and nicely carbonated.

Murky yellow with a white head. Aroma contains some lemons, spices, and white grapes. The flavor is sour and tart with a strong citrus flavor. The aftertaste is very tart and sour more so than most saisons. Overall a good beer.

Pours a pretty, slightly hazy golden with a thick, fine-bubbled, pale amber head. Aroma is hoppy, yeasty and fruity and just a bit sweet, not strong but still inviting. Yeasty flavor has hoppy, fruity (banana and pear) and malty notes, a touch of honey sweetness and a hint of butterscotch. Firm body has plenty of lively fizz and leaves a tingly, fruity, yeasty finish. This is to be sipped and savored in quiet reflection.

Big brown wine bottle, 2013 edition. Pours a very light golden colour, slightly hazy with a big white cap, good retention because of heavy carbonation and some foamy lace. Sour aromas with orange juice notes. The taste has no sourness, but the oranges are still present. Hints of Belgian Ale yeast. Wet mouthfeel with a little stickiness, making this one very refreshing, fruity and almost sessionable. Becomes hazier near the end with lots of particles. This releases spices in the nose. Pretty nice overall and for fans of mimosa, but in a beer.

Big wine bottle's worth from BCLDB Cloverdale. Clear, light gold pour with an enduring, frothy white head. Enticing aroma, lemony citrus, spices, and yeast. Above average mouth. Superior flavour, with all the traits of the aroma replicated, along with a peppery finish. Delicious.

A cloudy golden yellow colored beer with a big fluffy textured, off white head rising robustly above. There's good hang time on the head. Fluffs of film and moderate ringlet are left behind. Sour yeasty nose. That sourness muted some by sweet fruitness. Some pepper in that aftertaste. Light, effervescent and refreshing.

Maybe I had a bad bottle, but I found this better sampled straight out of said bottle than out of the glass, and the ratings reflect that. Out of the glass, I found it quite sour and tasting like grapefruit, and out of the glass the aroma rating would be a 3; Taste & and Overall both 7's.

750ml bottle; pours a pale straw clouded ale in the glass with frothy 2 finger white cap – excellent lacing. Tart/sour notes, some light malt sweetness, great funky earthy tones like a wild inoculated ale. Bright sharp peppery-tart-dry character. Light body. Flavour has pleasant souring in front later some spice and fruity notes (like a pear cider) arrive, hop balance is there but not needed with the tartness – fast dry peppery finish with a hint of sweetness at the finish. Refreshing, light dry, yet satisfying

The beer pours a hazed medium gold colour with a long lasting white head and is highly effervescence. The aroma is barnyard, tart peaches, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour is funk, yeast, tart fruits and spices. -

Golden yellow color with an airy, white head on top. Super fresh and pleasant aroma...flowery, peppery yeast with pineapple, champagne, citrus peel, and a touch of wood. Nice flavors of yeast, pineapple, fruit, with a sweet, somewhat creamy finish, not much noticeable funk. Medium bodied, effervescent, a little slick, but mostly crisp and refreshing. A very nice brew, would be nice on a hot day.
