The Bons Vœux is a blond top fermentation beer with refermentation in the bottle. Since 1970, the brewery has been brewing a special beer to give as a new years present to their best clients. (the name of this beer “Avec les bons Vœux de la brasserie Dupont » means « With the best wishes of the brewery Dupont » ). Because of the increasing success, they started to commercialise this “cadeau” but kept the name. Although the demands were considerable, only a small quantity was brewed, so they had to make a reservation list, even months before new year. This Bons Vœux is coppery blond, has very fine hoparomas and tastes bitter, fruity and mild. Our selection of yeasts, in combination with a longduring riping process, on a “dry hopping” base, are creating a typical and complex aroma and taste. A real refermentation in the bottle, which will continue for a long time in your cellar, result in a harmonious and well-balanced beer, full of unexpected and complex aromas

750 ml corked & caged bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 9.5%. Slightly hazy golden colour, huge white head. Aroma of spicy Belgian ale yeast, white kandij sugar syrup and spicy hops. The same spicy notes in the flavour, also sufficient malts, hints of yellow plums, not too sweet, bitter finish. Refreshing for its strength.

Golden color with a carbonated white head. Aroma is citrusy with some yeasty and spices. Flavor is rather sour but also malty with some lemons, tangerines, spices, and whipped cream. Aftertaste is a bit yeasty. Overall good beer.

Caged and cork bottle. Pours a hazy golden colour with heavy carbonation making the tiny particles go all-over. The head is white, foamy, big, with good retention and soapy lacing. Aromas of hops and yeast with medicinal hints. These are more present in the taste unfortunately. Seems closer to a Saison than a Tripel. Still, overall pretty decent.

Hazy golden yellow with small white foam head. Aroma is fresh fruity, mango and banana. Taste is difficult to define but going to soft fruits, peach, mango. Good aftertaste. (Utrecht 201303

Comes out of the tap a hazy, barely translucent light gold with a thick, fine-bubbled white head that leaves some good lacing. Yeasty and fruity aroma is not strong but still invites a taste. Flavor is yeasty and fruity with malt and sweet undertones and a strong but not overwhelming alcohol kick. Strongly fizzy texture leaves behind a nice tingle, as well as subtle sweetness and a bit of an alcohol nip.

Ooh wee! Nice beer! Bright golden, big white head aroma is herbal, spicey and plenty tropical. Taste is citrusy, well carbonated and just the same as aroma presented. Nice spicey, wheat, bubblegum notes. Generous amounts of fruit makes this a fun beer to drink.

Don’t ask me why. On tap at the Vintage Estates in Boardman. Pours pale yellow and slightly hazy. Sweet, somewhat volatile aroma. Thick white head fades to a tea froth in a few minutes. Fairly strong attitude on the tongue. I would have guess this to be a strong ale style, not saison. Though it does not come across like 9.5%. Flat with little if any, detectable carbonatuion. Finish is a stronger belgie ale character. Alky laced linger. One of the better high alky brews I’ve tasted.

Pour was orange straw with nice head and lacing. The aroma was weak funk. Man, this is one rich and creamy beer…excellent mouthfeel. The flavor was tart fruit, a very mild level of spice and a mild barnyard funk. This is a different kind of saison, but I really enjoyed it!

This saison pours a cloudy deep peach orange color form a cork-finished 750ml bottle. Large sized, long lasting white foamy head, with good retention and excellent lacing. Aroma is fruity, spicy and floral. A medium bodied saison. The malts are fruity; lots of orange, green apple and lemon fruitiness give way to spiciness and grassiness. A little yeasty as well. A little hoppy for a saison, but it works, that hop bite balances and mixes well with the fruit, spice and yeasty. Lively carbonation. Hides the 9% alcohol well. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and nearly bone dry. Aftertaste is slightly tart.
