An amber beer with a thin dense off-white head. The aroma is nicely hoppy with notes of grapefruit - which leads the thoughts towards Cascade, but also a light caramel note. The flavor is nice with a good presence of aroma hops, slight notes of toffee, and a fine delicate bitter finish.

Pours a clear amber crossed with copper and it comes with a good head. The aroma is pinesol hops. The flavor is fairly aggressively hopped for an APA. Not bad.

Sampled a pint of this at the Arundel Mills mall location, on a quiet Tuesday night.
My very first exposure to the DuClaw name, and not a bad introduction, IMO. A world-class American Pale Ale, that causes socks to fly off, and fireworks to suddenly appear in the sky? Hardly. But a workable, workman-like, solid Pale Ale, nontheless.
Very traditional hopping with this one -- Columbus & Cascade, and lots of `em. But while this might be a bit "beyond the pale" for some folks in the MD/VA/DC area, I was surprised that this was as bright and as hoppy as it was -- and that's coming from a jaded West Coast hophead, too! Quoted to be 36 IBU's on the website, which (unless scientifically measured) is really one of the least useful stats out there -- but does give a ballpark figure..., that this American Pale Ale has some nads...
Solid, albeit unremarkable malt bill, so the mouthfeel seemed a little basic to me, to be honest. Does the job, but could be a bit more assertive -- perhaps a little more "biscuity", perhaps.
But for this to be one a brewpub chain's staple beers does say that they are not affraid of walking away from the safe & boring, beerwise.
A worthy enough entry-level Pale Ale, me'thinks.

Poured an amber color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine resin, caramel malts, and citrus hops. Taste included much of the same, with grapefruit as well. Rather muddled in the finish.

I really enjoyed this pale ale on tap at the hanover duclaw brewpub. First off, we had a great table in the back away from the smoke and children in a booth. Allowed for the full enjoyment of the beer. Hoppy, but not too hoppy. Taste is sweet, very sticky.
