Coors Winterfest (Sandlot)

It pours a dark copper color with nil head and some lace. Aroma of caramel malts, light hops, citrus, and mild spiciness. Great mouthfeel which is smooth, rich, zesty, and full-bodied. Bready flavor of caramel malts, light hops, citrus, and mild spices. Pretty good!

decent amber color, a little more on the dark side. the head was short lived and off white. the aroma is sweet and has some hints of nuts. the flavor is not a huge leap from from their lager. it has a deeper thicker feel. and the flavor is sort of like toffee with a swill aftertaste. overall it is good for coors, but bad in general.

This is just like a regualr Coors except with a Brown Ale twist. I thought this beer was ok and is definitely worth a try. Not much of a winter beer though.

Great in the simple plane of things...Not a christmas (spiced) beer at all, not even really a winter beer, but is nice. Tasty simple bitters..good ass lacing!...some good malt flavours...some very small decention of alcohol but goes well with everything..one of the best new winter beers for me this season!!

I was in Golden. Went through the Coors plant. To tell you the truth I didnt expect mush of this beer. It did suprise me. Although it is nothing great, it was much better than anyting that I have tried from Coors, Miller or Bud. A thumbs up to Coors.

12 oz brown botle. In appearance this is a nice enough, clear medium brown ale with livelly carbonation and a good sized creamy thick light tan head. Good strongish aroma of caramel like malts. Plain malty flavour, smooth and semi- sweet, like prunes or sweet figs. To be honest its quite pleasing. The palate is average.. slightly thin for the style. Quite a drinkable ale..not big compared to most micro winter ales..but nice and refreshing. A surprise coming from the makers of such horrors as "The Silver Bullet".!

Grainy with a bitter after taste. Definite hints of carmel. I agree that the after taste was almost chemical. On the whole it was not a horrible one to try... but I wouldn't try it again.

I bought a six pack to try this. It poured amber with a light tan head. Maybe "too" balanced, because I can find nothing that stands out.....But overall, it is very drinkable.

There's been a lot (I do mean *a lot*) of macro-bashing on the site as of late -- maybe it's the holiday season putting folks on edge, with the macro-brewers an easy target to vent at? Either way, regardless of the latest doings on the site, I admit I didn't go into this beer really expecting much. Picked up for laugh, to be perfectly honest. And if that is considering to be "macro bashing by proxy" or what have you, so be it.

But really? This isn't horrible. Pretty much your typical run-of-the-mill mass-produced Red/Amber-ish ale. More than a few hints at some Killians parentage with this one -- or, rather, which came first, Killians or Winterfest? (Probably not much easier to answer than "which came first, the chicken or the egg?").

But generally speaking, this is a beer that doesn't impress, but also doesn't really repulse, either. I have to take exception to the rather sweet cloying backend of this beer -- again, hints of both Killians, and the awful "JW Dundee's Original Honey Brown" (thankfully absent from the CA marketplace nowadays).

Of course, there is always going to be some debate as to whether this is really an ale or not. I tend to think that it really is, since it does have the very slightest hints of wispy fruity esters in nose. And the middle and front end of this beer's flavor profile and mouthfeel do hint at something a tad more complex that what you might find in a "Amber Lager" or what-have-you. Nothing even approaching awe-inspiring or anything -- and it really does end up near the bottom of the seasonal holiday beers I've had this 2005 -- but it's really not that bad, in the final analysis.

A shame that Coors won't make this a year-round offering -- but then I guess it would cut into their Killians sales some. Oh well.

This amber pours a dark amber color form a 12oz bottle. Small sized beige head. Aroma is malt and spice and something a little chemical. A medium to light bodied amber. Malts are caramel and toffee. Slightly spicy hops. There are also some grainy like aspects to this beer as well. Still it mostly tastes like a cola crossed with a Coors Lite. Thin and watery, mostly tasteless, There is a touch of cinnamon in the taste as it warms. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
