Growler sample (from before it was being bottled or canned, 2010) courtesy of HOPSHUNTER. Pours opaque copper – brown with light tan head. The aroma is earthy, dark roasted malts, spicy hops and a touch of chocolate and burnt malts. The taste starts a bit bright with spicy hops, some grapefruit and then a wedge of hoppy earthiness. Toward midway it picks up a pleasing malt roastiness, a touch of burnt malts and chocolate. Nice hoppy roasty brew.

Pours hazy sepia with a thick and lasting buff head. Aroma yields piney hops, toasted malt and subtle citrus. Flavor presents hops that are more woody than resiny and only a little bitter, plus toasted malt, a bit of citrus, a bit of caramel. Texture offers fair, smooth body and perky fizz, plus a woody and slightly sweet finish. To the Tocobaga.

I was curious to try this but never got around to buying the bomber cause the price was $8-$9 or whatever. Then....I saw the 6-packs and HAD to get one to sample. At $10.99 this is a way better deal. Basically, a good hoppy smooth RED ale. I don't know why they list it as amber ale here. But yeah, the color is more towards the amber side. Tastes like a west coast (Lagunitas-style) Red Ale/IPA hybrid. Aroma has some citrus-pine to it. Another fine brew by the best brewer in my homestate. Recommended to anyone who can get this in their area and likes this style....but wait for the 6-packs, cause even as good quality as it is, not sure if quite worth the bomber price.

A bold ruby-brown beer with a small frothy textured, off white head that rises briefly above. Settles into a thick ringlet. While this one may not be strong in appearance it is brillant in flavors. Nice grapefruit-citric hop nose and even bolder grapefruit-citric presence in tasting crafted and balanced brillantly with sweet malt. A refreshing medium-full bodied beer.

An imperial red, as opposed to an amber, but ironically lighter in color. the hops are lively and spicy in this one, though, and I love the sweet malt/bitter balance. well done.

Very nice amber with a well rounded character. Good pour and ample aromas. Medium bodied, malty and satisfying. Caramel, American hops, bread and plenty of goodness.

Another winner from CCB, i really enjoyed this .. . Pours out a deep ruby sunset, great foam .. . sweet maple, caramel and citrus - wonderfully balanced and abv well masked.. . does anyone know how to take penalties .. . This was a good beer and dangerously drinkable .. . Save me, Jeebus!
