http://cigarcitybrewing.com/beer/nitro-1/ Black in color, Café Con Leche is a Milk Stout infused with Cuban Espresso. Café con leche literally translates to “coffee with milk” and it is a bold coffee roast blend with scalded milk at a ratio of 1:1. This beer emulates a traditional cup of local culture. It has an enticing coffee aroma and flavor with nuances of condensed milk and light vanilla notes. This milk stout blends roasted barley with the bold taste of Cuban espresso beans and a rounding sweetness from the use of lactose, a non-fermentable milk sugar, which adds scalded condensed milk notes and lends a full silkiness to the mouthfeel of the beer

Rating from 2009. Two words describe this beer best, YUM. Well, maybe one word. But its yum squared. It pours very dark with light brown head. Good gravy, the aroma is amazing. It is full of robust rich dark roasted coffee beans that nearly bring me to my knees. Wow. Behind that are notes of dark chocolate and a touch of heavy cream. The flavor does not disappoint. I love the full rich decadent yummy very dark roasted coffee. Too many coffee flavored beers just smell and taste like Folgers crystal, meh. This beer has the goods with mouth watering espresso like coffee beans that I need to find and start making coffee with as soon as possible. Like the aroma there are supporting notes in the background like velvety dark chocolate mixing with a mildly drying lactose sensation that play together in harmony with the bold coffee notes. Wow.

March 2019: On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Black colour, minimal tan head. Aroma of roast malts, coffee, cocoa and lactose. The flavour has a slight fruitiness which makes it very drinkable, and has otherwise the same elements as the aroma. Not too sweet, moderate hops.

Taps dark chocolate brown with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled tan head. Aroma features mocha, roast malt and molasses tones. Flavor nicely echoes the aroma but ramps up the chocolate and coffee components. Smooth mouthfeel has OK fizz and a lip-smacking mocha finish. Gotta leche this cafe!

Jet black in colored beer with a big sudsy-creamy textured, light tan head rising above. There's excellent hang time on the head. A persistent cap and thin ringlet left. Notes of milk on the nose. In taste it is a café leche as one would find in a Cuban breakfast setting. A smooth and creamy mouthfeel.
