Aroma is malty, smoky and slightly yeasty with a good undertone of fine coffee and molasses. It pours a dark chocolate brown with a thick pale beige head that is fine-bubbled and fairly persistent. Flavor is malty and mocha-ish with just a whisper of sweetness. Texture is smooth and lively though not as thick as that of some other stouts.

Wish List beer (marks Sweden off the map). Bottle from Belmont Party Supply, Dayton, OH. Black brown pour with a very compressed tan head, nice droopy lacing. Rich roasted malt aroma, lots of molasses, slight sweet creamed coffee, earthy and tasty. Nice Baltic Porter with a rich mouthfeel and flavor.

2010 bottle. Pours a semi-transparent red/brown with a one finger cream colored head that goes down fast. Noticeably carbonated. Aroma is down to earth sweet. Taste is malty and creamy. You can detect some noticeable alcohol in this one. Sort of on the bland side but makes up for it with its texture. In the end it is nice and sticky with a slight burn in the gut. Over all a pleasant brew.

Opaque black, sweet aroma. Bittersweet char & cherry flavor. Not complex, but pleasant and smooth. I'm clearly not as amazed as others, but I may revisit this one in the future.

Very good looking beer, particularly for a porter with a few years on it. Black liquid with a nice foamy head and plenty of lacing. Interesting smell. It’s probably a bit weaker but more complex now than it was fresh. There are notes of sweet stone fruit and roasted malt. The taste is sweet, roasty and fruity. The flavor is exceptionally well-melded and balanced. Good bitterness, not too sweet. Creamy and smooth. I was expecting disappointment but received just the opposite.

This is a decent imported porter, with that European feel and all, but didn't think it was quite worth anything near the price tag. Dark brown, near black appearance that is on the thinner side. Very malty, hardly any hops. Also noticed some honey in the flavor, so it reminded of a honey porter....or an old-style porter. Not that much carbonation. Bottle said good until 2016, so maybe needed some more time. I could see myself drinking this in England or Sweeden, but doubt I'd buy again here.

This beer is a bit of an enigma. Specifically, the beer had an amazing smell and taste - both heavy on the chocolate and toffee. That being said, however, this beer was thin as water. Ther was no head and zero lacing. While the taste and aroma were top notch, this beer didn't have enough body for me to rave over it. I will likely pick up the last two of these at the store where I purchased this one. It is a really tasty beer but by no means a winter warmer. -

Dark as night pour with smallish head and a little lacing. Weak vinous aroma, oddly. Flavor was large amounts of milk chocolate, very little to no bitterness. Silky smooth...I enjoyed this...I might have enjoyed it more, but I think I just picked the wrong beer for my mood tonight. :(

Argang 2004--is that a vintage? If it wasn't for the undercarbonated, too thin mouthfeel, this would have been a very enjoyable beer. It had a nice, mellow roasted-chocolate-coffee taste that rolled out in a very smooth manner. Looked beautiful--a deep, dark brown with just a little bit of head (yeah, that could have been more abundant, too). It had such a subtle, understated quality that really made it quite different from a lot of other stouts (...er, porters) that I have had. Very mellow and delicious...just doesn't feel "heavy" enough. I don't know if this is a typical Swedish porter or not, but it definitely a nice breather from the Stone Impys I've been drinking.

Deep dark brown, nearly but not quite opaque, with a slight ruby tint where the light manages to peek through. Ample tannish-colored head that settles quickly, leaving minimal lacing. Aromas of toffee, brown sugar and molasses in the roasted malts. Mouthfeel is tingly and typical for this type, but seems a higher ABV than listed. Nice flavor, not quite as thickly complex as say, Black Boss, or the Okocim, and overall a lesser value, given its very high cost/pint. I had to try it, because I want to try all the Baltics available, but now that I have, I probably won't splurge for another, but rather will select the much lower priced Black Boss, Okocim, or even Utenos. Afterthought P.S. My boggle is labeled as best before May 2014 (it doesnt indicate exactly what DAY in May), so I suspect it might have should have been (LOL what tense is that?) put up for a while yet. I'll get another boggle sometime when I have $5 to burn, and set it in the cellar to age til I'm 60-something. HeddyMuggz, remind me to drink it, OK?
