500ml bottle -
Aroma - chocolate, cherry-pits aroma...wet dirt...kinda musty smelling...sweet and fruity yet molasses...toasted grain notes.
Appearance - deep brown/black body, mocha colored head, about 1" thick, nice retention.
Taste - lots and lots of chocolate notes, obvious alcohol notes (quite the burn), vinous/bourbon thing going on here...strange but really nice.
Palate - huge full bodied beer, stinging from the alcohol, could be smoother.
Overall - probably the best >$3.00 porter I’ve had. Really nice price and damned good. Just couldn’t drink more than 1 a day I don’t think. -

Sampled on 1/30/2009. This Baltic porter pours a deep brown color from a 50cl bottle. Small to medium sized tan foamy head. The aroma is chocolate and roasted malt, touch of coffee. A medium bodied Baltic Porter. The malts are roasted and chocolate, with dark fruit and some vanilla. The hops are earthy and floral. Nice balance. Lively carbonation. Nice chocolate flavors, but a little sweet for my tastes. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is sweet.

I sampled this one after sinebrychoff and i prefered the okocim. The aroma had alot of fruit notes along with the toasted malts, and chocolate. Flavor was similar to the aroma with the sweet fruit, chocolate, and coffee finish, very smooth despite the high alcohol content. Overall it was a very fine porter thats worth a try.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown, 1pt.0.9floz. or 500ml bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: The body has a very dark brown color with some lighter brown highlights. Its head builds up thick and slowly settles down to thin cap that hangs on to the last sip. The head is tan in color and makes nice slippery lace that slowly slides down the glass as I drink. Smell: Its aroma is strong and has a heavy sweet and fruity malt character with a very noticeable alcohol presence in the nose. Taste/Mouth feel: The overall flavor is very sweet with a sticky, almost syrupy texture. Sugary sweet malt with dark caramel, molasses and toffee notes dominate its character. There is a very noticeable alcohol presence in the flavor and notes of cherry cough drop with some mild herbal and leafy hops. Any bitterness from the hops is overpowered by the extremely sweet malt however. It finishes slowly with its malt lingering on the palate. Carbonation is moderate to average and it's about medium bodied. Notes: Its overall drinkability for me was low due to its unchecked and unbalanced syrupy sweetness. The alcohol had some ruff edges as well; still this is a very interesting brew.

A porter with a kick. Wow! Everything typical porter (dark chocolate color, malt-caramel taste.) And that's where the stops. A strong alcoholic taste sets it aside other porters and stouts.

I'm still tasting this beer in my mouth, a day after I had it. Wicked strong alcohol taste and aroma. It was like drinkin creamed whiskey or something. I love strong beers as much as anybody else, but the whiskey flavor was unbalanced. dark chocolatey, big tan head.

Another strong beer, this one a European strong one. This was a very dark brown beer with very little head, and the first thing was the alcohol, after that one could smell some burnt sugar. It was great on the tongue. The flavour was complex, but the extra alcohol kept getting in the way.

16.9 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a wispy off white head that quickly dissipates to a thin collar.
The aroma is sweet chocolate and vinous fruits.
The flavor is sweet sugary chocolate malts, vinous dark fruits, and some tarry smoke followed by some offsetting bitterness. As it warms, the molasses sweetness becomes a little cloying. The mouthfeel is medium to full with some sharpish carbonation.
Overall, a nice complex porter. A little too far on the sweet side. -

The problem here is that this was sold to me and tsova as one of the best porters in the world. It was deep brown in appearance with a thin head. The flavor is what lost me. I felt it was a little bland to be considered one of the best. That being said, not a bad beer a worth a try.

This was a treat! I am proud of my people for this one! This beer poured dark and thick and was heavy in the mouth. Overall, a great beer with hints of chocolate and coffee. I would recommend this one to any porter lover.
